Little Mermaid cost close to $100 mil... and that's a D.

LOL. Well, my point is that the amount of money spent on an attraction does not signify the ticket level of the attraction. Also, do we even know how much money was spent on this attraction? If FJ cost around $90 mil, they couldn't have spent THAT much money on this re-working. In the end, it doesn't really matter. If the ride system is the same but with high-end 3-D... it's still a D in my op(m)inion.

See what I did there?

Lame. I'm really curious as to what's going on with it. The oil spill couldn't have been this big, could it?

If Toy Story Mania is considered a D, Minion Mayhem is at least a DD. Of course, some will try to tell you that Toy Story Mania is an E...then again, the people who say that would likely consider Minion Mayhem an A or less.

I'm confused by what's going on. It looks like ride programming is still being tweaked by the looks of the equipment just taken behind the building by rockit. Although it seems employees for the ride in full costume are arriving now. My guess is there training today again. To the left of the facade is a temporary barrier that has been placed in what looks like a temp side entrance to stand bye. No audio outside nor are the queue monitors on. Went inside the store and there appears to be zero activity going on.

Meh. No way in hell is Toy Story an E, but it's really about the same ride as Minion Mayhem. Both have interesting and immersive queues, and both are heavily based on 3D screens. Now whatever physical effects we may see in Minion Mayhem can certainly put it over the top, but I don't think there's a vast difference between the two.

Also of note, the line to take pictures with the Minions was longer than the line for Shrek for most of the day

I love to see that this property is actually just as popular as Uni had made it out to be. It would have been extremely embarrassing if it wasn't, especially from the marketing standpoint.

From Screamscape:

6/8/12) If your visiting the park over the next week or so, keep close tabs on Despicable Me. I’m told that the creative staff and members of upper management have been taking test rides on the new attraction this past week, which means that a possible soft opening could take place any day now if all goes well.
