How did they manage to build the inside of Gru's home and the 2nd pre show room? Did they cut the Jimmy pre show room in half?

I'm oddly anxious for this ride.

That post-show is gonna get converted into a straight-up meet'n'greet faster than you can say "Despicable."

Oh my God, yes. I'll be walking right through it. I'd love to have Gru in there to say goodbye and take pics, etc. That is something I would stick around for.

I'm giving it three months to see how well it does with crowds. If it's a relative flop, I think they'll keep a section of it as it is, but only for those willing to partake. The rest will turn into a meet and greet session...

A cool thing to do would be to make a Musion photo op with Gru saying various spiels in the background and multiple minions standing and waiting for a picture. They'll have to adjust lighting for it to not include flash and ruin the effect, but I think it'd work out just fine with good enough low-light DSLR lenses.

Anyways, I'm going later this week, and I'm ridiculously excited for this, Superstar Parade, and CineSpec! I haven't gotten paid yet, so my AP has yet to be renewed, but I am soon. :)

The mixed ride reviews are slightly disappointing. To whoever has ridden it, are you at least finding the ride experience better than Jimmy Neutron? How are the in-house special effects? And were you fans of the movie?

See I have a problem with the negative reviews. Because in the big picture you are right, were they fans of the movie? I mean this attraction is geared towards children and families. Not a bunch of tweens or young adults who cries over spill milk or complains about anything that isn't in their favor. I in my view enjoyed the ride and the overall theme. From Preshow 1 to Post Show, it follows what the ride is about, "Minion Training."

I just got done riding it... photos to come!
Short Review:

1. Queue video awesome - better experience than Nutron
2. Pre Show Room 1: AMAZING stunning, aweosme, the preshow was also great, helped you get familiar with the source material even better
2. Pre Show Room 2: A GREAT update to what was there. Gone is the Hanibara Ship reporpused to Nutron. They fixed the crowd flow issues with the addition of Pre Show room #1. It is great!
3. Ride: SOO much better than Nutron. I didn't get sick. The 3 D was stunning, the ride was cute, funny, and makes for a wonderful and terrific family ride. As a grown single man, will I ride it when I am in the parks alone... no, but will I take my nieces and nephews on it when they are in town? You bet!
4. Post Show: I saw TONS of kids dancing with the Minions in the dance party room. Seemed like people were having a lot of fun here
5. Gift Shop: after the ride it seemed every kid needed a plush from the ride, and judging from the amount of people I saw walking out of the park with DM merchandise it seems UO has a real winner here.

Good to hear..Universal really needed a good family-sim in this spot.. Neutron was good but this sounds like it is better (and a Uni property too!)...can't wait for the pics

I've yet to hear a negative review that had a reasonable negative to bring up.

The ride looks really cool. Too bad it opened during AP previews for Carsland and got missed because of that.

I too hope that the dance party is removed; not that I'm against dancing it's just so forced and awkward, I feel bad for the TM who are made to dance there. I think it could work as a elecTRONica style event at night in front of the attraction, just not as a post show.

Stuck inside the store waiting on this storm to pass, I guess UCS is cancelled. The ride by the way is awesome, full review late tonight with pictures.
