The SSFL build should be a brisk four to five months if the construction crews move their butts as swiftly as possible. It all depends on when it gets started...

Yeah, it seems that (based on the pacing of the Orlando one) USH is burning through the facade work as quickly as possible (USF's DM had their facade start going up 6 months before the ride opened but obviously had less to do) so they can get to work on SSFL. I predict that by the beginning Grinchmas, the facades should be at the point where they're only needing detailing/painting/interior work and then the staging area can be cleared by the end of Grinchmas and the construction of SSFL can begin. I'm thinking that SSFL is going to be the photo finish in this project while the ride will have plenty of time to test and adjust. This type of situation happened almost identically at DCA last year (Cars Land seemed VERY done by March and Buena Vista Street hurdled it's way to barely make opening day).

^ well those two were very big and very different projects, and Buena Vista Street had a few delays due to rain.

But yeah, I think everything will go smoothly for SSFL construction. Let's hope there are no delays.

But again, SSFL doesn't seem too complicated...

I wonder what that is, since they don't like like the houses in the movie. In the movie they were made of wood and painted white...

The neighborhood cookie cutter houses are all there....they're on the two different sides surrounding Gru's house. The brick building is a facade on the former Cyber Grill building. It's designed after Miss Hattie's Home for Girls Orphanage that Gru's girls lived in before being adapted.

If this is on the former Cyber Grill building, is Despicable Delights still a possibility, or is just getting a new name?

I'm most curious to see how they'll cover/repurpose the showbuilding's exterior.

It's being repainted slightly, it'll be the last thing they do. The point of the entrance is to totally block that building from guests' view.

I figured that's what they'll do. Probably a whole "sky and clouds" deal. I wish they'd worry about what the view is for the SSFL guests. Although in that case, hopefully they'll repaint it to compliment SSFL. I'd paint it and add some "amusement park" structures to it similar to the exterior of the Simpsons Ride but a bit better.

Allen, I hope it looks nothing like the Simpsons. I think the ride is film, but the attraction building looks god-awful.

Boy, if they do pull a Simpsons, it wouldn't surprise me to see them paint the silver accents yellow and call it a day. But at least we're past that era now.

Noooo haha no way like the Simpsons! You know me better than that man ;) I meant similar in spirit to how the Simpsons has 2D static cutouts of Amusement park rides on the exterior, but for SSFL i wouldn't make it 2D or anywhere close to what they did for Simpsons. What I'd do on the T23D showbuilding that's visible from SSFL is paint it and then add a false perspective Super Silly Funland in the "distance" that looks like it's an extension of the life size SSFL play area. The idea works in my head, trust me haha.Like, those silver accents that are part of the facade that you mentioned, I'd make use of them to be the "roller coaster" structure using force perspective, and heck, I'd even add an actual Bigature coaster on it to add motion. A lot Universal Creative could potentially do to hide the building, but I doubt we'll see any of that.

Do you get what I was getting at now?

Speaking of 2D cutouts, it seems like Universal will use it again behind Gru's neighborhood to hide the building from Baker's St. The structures behind the houses currently look like they're going to be either 2D trees or clouds.
