I don't think robots would have enhanced Transformers all that dramatically, but I do know the current facade was the result of a last minute change to stay within budget.

A very short sighted move, but hey, what can you do...

Yep, when I was there today and took the picture. it did not look big enough to be a play area but good enough size for a spinner.

Please please please please please be a spinner.

Although I'm curious....is it maybe too close to the exit to be a good enough sized spinner?

Think of the size of Dumbo. That's not a huge area.

Sure seems small for a spinner, however, this image makes me think it's possible.

The location of the "circle" in the construction photo looks just about where they supposedly are supposed to put the spinner anyway, so hopefully it wasn't cut.

A flat, several meet and greets, carnival games, and some kind of interactive water feature for guests is the rumor on the streets. Also heard that your ride system is being worked on by Dynamic Structures, but that could of been confused with the FJ because DS is 100% providing the ride system there. Also look out for projector upgrades at multiple attractions over the next 12 months across the park.

Regardless of who's working on the ride system, it'll be lame to be able to see the other riders in the other cars as the ride is happening. Personally, if it was up to me, I'd make all the ride vehicles similar to the Simpson's vehicles/8 passenger DeLoreans, since the height of the doors blocks out the view of the other riders (for the most part). That would've been a great solution.

As for future projector upgrades, it'll be nice to see an improved system for Simpson's. The footage is so dark and...blehh. I'm also curious if they'll eventually upgrade King Kong 360 3D, which uses 2K HD and polarizing glasses, to instead use Dolby 3D like Transformers, Minion Mayhem, Spiderman and Star Tours. Would be fantastic to see Kong a bit brighter and sharper. But might be unrealistic since the Dolby glasses are so expensive and stocking them for the tour and not having the bored tour guests drop them off or break them after Kong would be difficult.

(Although that would be solved if the future F&F animation uses Dolby 3D at the END of the tour, forcing the tour guests to hold on the glasses for the entire tour)

You are right, it would be dumb to have to give guests 2 sets of 3D glasses on the Tour.  One set for Kong and another for a new attraction.  I also think it would not be smart to build a new 3D attraction with anything less than the 4K option.

Hmm if the opening date is April 10th, then chances are we'll see soft openings a full month prior. I think I have an idea now of when to make my return to USH.  B)

It is definitely a base for a flat ride. But a spinner usually requires quite a bit of digging into the ground. I remember hearing a board member say a while back that it could be something like "Knights Tournament" at LEGOLAND which is a Kuka-arm flat ride with a very small footprint.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zu-sYH9nQpY

This would also make sense since USH has two perfectly good Kuka arms sitting backstage.

A Knights Tournament style ride would have a very low hourly capacity. It would be the West Coast version of the Pteranodon Flyers nightmare!
