They already put the ride signage up. Unfortunately, I don't know how to upload pictures on here, but I'll post it on the site's FB page and maybe someone can upload it here. It's basically the same as Florida's, but a smaller marque is facing the SSFL.

I think that's the secondary sign, I believe a larger one will be installed facing Baker street as well.

Obviously we needed another sign for the guests walking toward the attraction from Moulin Rouge street.  Noted!

I 1000% agree with Westcoaster....*sigh*

It's hard not to be so picky! Because Universal IS capable of doing an amazing and COMPLETELY realized environment without any cutbacks. :/

I don't know. James Disney is a pretty reasonable guy with great insight and perspective, but this is Hollywood we're talking about.

I hate lowering my expectations for different parks, but after the Transformers debacle...I'm pretty thrilled with what we're getting so far.

Oh no, don't take me wrong Jon. I'm thrilled at the detail of what we're getting too. It's just...you know what I mean, it's just...not quite THERE. It's amazing, and it's not Six Flags, but....I expect more from Universal now.

Gru's car would have made for a very nice photo op and interactive area.

I could imagine it parked on the side of the street with the jet engine spewing mist during the summer, similar to the jet engine in front of Soarin at DCA.  Such a missed opportunity.

Given what I have seen with how they have basically left the old T2 queue intact instead of themeing  it to the interior of Gru's house, I've begun to lower my expectations.

So disappointing, especially after seeing what they have done with the facade.

I agree that small details make an attraction truly great, but unless there's a third party that can hold Universal accountable (say, Warner Brothers for instance), we'll continue to receive these small quirks throughout the park.

Universal is definitely capable of so much more, but I've grown tired of pointing these inconsistencies out. I mean, look at World of Color versus Cinematic Spectacular. Is it even a competition?

I mean, this is the same company that funded Jurassic Park and Spiderman...who knows why these things occur.

I would've expected these shortcomings around the time Mummy was built. Not now, when Comcast and Universal claim to be extremely serious about investing cash into the parks. Go big, or go home. That's one thing that I like about Disney...it may take forever to built, but it gets done right. (Unless of course Warner Brothers is overseeing the construction, like you mentioned)

Hate to be "that guy" but how do you know? It's not finished yet and the queue is usually one of the last things worked on.

Judging from this: http://netdna.orlandoinformer.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/despicable-me-minion-mayhem-universal-studios-final-233-oi.jpg ...the car probably isn't fully done yet and will at least look a little better. But I do have to agree that it's weird and probably should've been done better. Not really something to lose sleep over, I mean... this isn't MiceChat haha.

Isn't Orlando's the same?  I did not expect any changes with the Hollywood port of the ride.

Sorry, but this:

12030160935_005e690e21_c.jpg

looks exactly the same as this:

despicable-me-4.jpg

If they were going to build a heavily themed queue, they would have already started. And based on what I've seen so far, it looks like the bulk of the queue is going to be EXACTLY the same as Orlando's, minimally themed switch backs.

Was really hoping for a queue that took you through Grus house, but it looks like Universal went the cheap route.

Port!  Yuck!

LOL, Jon will like that all they did in Hollywood was add more speakers!!!  LOL

I am expecting the outdoor salad bar from T2 to be removed.  Because I can imagine they will hand you the glasses at the top of the ramp instead of the bottom as before.  Keep those expensive glasses in the building!!!

I wonder that a new 3D animation on the tour will do?  Will you keep the old glasses with Kong?  Will you upgrade Kong to the new 4K resolution?  Or will you give guests two pair of glasses for the tour?  LOL  Logistics...

...that's not all of USF's queue. IIRC there are some indoor portions that take you through Gru's house.

Yup. If you look at the photo that Ryan posted, you can see the indoor themed section all the way in the front. The bulk of the queue and the line leading up the preshow is minimally themed.

Ryan, i completely agree with you. For them to go to the extent that they did to make a fantastic facade, but still keep the same plain and minimally themed metal switch back queue similar to Florida, is an extreme shame. As many other attractions have shown (Forbidden Journey, Indiana Jones, Spiderman, old Kong ride), the queue can be (and should be) just as detailed and/or immersie as the ride. For me, the experience starts the moment I pass under the ride sign. I know there's a super detailed preshow/queue portion as well, but it'll be so short. Come on, they should've made the entire queue Gru's house. He has a huge house, and many quirky cool rooms (have us go through the girls' bedroom where we can see the drawings on the wall, etc). We had the luxury of space (and budget) for once compared to Florida! I'll save my full judgment till it opens but unfortunately, I'm disappointed in the queue for now.

Am I the only person who really doesn't care about the queue? I mean, we're getting the much better facade and Super Silly Funland. If this were GE, they wouldn't even bother with the house and everything. They would've kept the building the way it was and cheaply put card-board cutouts of minions on there.

Yeah, that would be cool but right now Universal's focus is creating gigantic switchback space, and that idea doesn't really conform.

I still say we reserve judgement until we see the full thing.
