Looks like I'm headed to the park tomorrow!! So stoked to finally experience this, especially after waiting 14.5 months since T2:3D's departure. From the photos above, it looks like the attention to detail and the amount of immersion is unbelievable.

Unfortunately I won't be able to experience it until the summer. I hear there might be an IU meetup...  ;)

I'll probably stop by Uni on Saturday to check out DM. I get off of work at three so I'll probably be there around 4 if anyone on here wants to meet up. I may stay until closing.

Whatever gets more butts into the park. In the end it's all about selling tickets and Minion plushies haha.

Me and my little sister just got back from Universal to ride DM:MM. I have to say, I REALLY liked it! Even though I've already been on the one in Florida, I actually enjoyed going on this again more than I thought I would. Even though it's another simulator ride, the motion is very smooth and it doesn't feel too rough. There was just a certain charm that the ride had that made it feel superior than the Simpsons. It's probably the high level of theming, more heartfelt humor, and the smooth motions. This will definitely be a big hit for Universal for years to come. They have a big winner on their hands here. :)

It goes without saying that the ride is the same as Florida's but it does have some enhancements. There's wind effects, water effects recycled from T2 (The mist), and better film projection (It looked better than Transformers). Also, I LOVE THE THEMING! Yeah, the blank queue bothered me a little bit, but the awesome facade, the quality pre-show rooms and the AMAZING-looking Super Silly Funland made me forget that; besides, it never really bothered me too much in the first place. It would've been nice to have an all-out queue though.

I didn't get to try the DM food. Maybe next time. I did get the cupcake and I thought it was alright. They were out of the bananas when I tried to get one. I'm looking forward to seeing SSFL when it's all complete. It's not even finished yet and I already think it looks amazing. Great job Universal! You did very good on putting this in and I'm glad to see your work pay off! :)

P.S. Man, that preshow is LOUD. Not deafening loud, but loud to the point where I couldn't hear myself think.

The queue is obnoxiously loud. They seem to pump audio through as loud as they can get it for the first few weeks of operation before taming it down. This occurred with Transformers and especially the Simpsons. With that said, the sound in the queue made my head hurt.

As for the ride, it's so freaking cute that I can't even handle it. Sure, the ride technology is nothing to brag about, but the story and plot line are just adorable. Add the small details in the preshow rooms and you have yourself a hit.

The food from Gru's Cafe was also a refreshing change of pace from the typical Universal fare. Glad to see they're really going all out on this one.

...and not to rag on the queue too much, I'm also surprised at how short it really is before it cuts off. It doesn't seem to hold more than 90 minutes before they start setting up the temporary barricades. Also a bit odd to not see more monitors in the outer reaches of the line.

Oh man. How funny would it have been to see the stolen Times Square Jumbotron from the first movie overhead the extended queue. That would have done it for me, this ride would have been graded as perfect in my book.

I really like the small touch of the human ---> minion lights on the vehicle. Is that also in Florida?

I'm going to guess the loudness is due to the steel enclosure plus the myriad of speakers they have. One of the clips sound almost unbearable, all they really have to do is lower the bass.
