I believe D-Luxe Burger is a Dismey concept. It will be interesting to see what they come up with. I'm a big fan of the recent crop of burger places. Shula Burger, Burger 21, Shake Shack, Burger Fi, and That One Spot are all solid. I hope it is something like one of those and less like 5 Guys.

It appears they added the Water Tower over the weekend.

It is indeed Disney-run. Here's what Magic had on it:

Owned and operated by Disney, D-Luxe Burger will offer gourmet burgers made from a signature blend of beef, with unique toppings and fresh-baked buns.

Also on offer will be all-natural chicken and veggie burgers, with hand-cut fries and house-made dipping sauces.

On the beverage side, gelato shakes, including alcoholic versions will be on offer, with hard sodas, draft beer and cider also available.

D-Luxe Burgers is expected to open around Summer 2016.

I think that will be a nice addition. Excited to hear about other places to eat. But I will never go there for shopping outside of Disney stuff, but I am not their target market either.

I actually will buy things at some of these shops fairly often... mostly because I like to keep up with fashion trends.

it is interesting, just since Disney Springs has been trending on Facebook all day today, to read the comments from people. Highly, highly, negative.

"Looking more and more like an outlet mall type atmosphere."
"Disney Springs is losing the Disney feel/atmosphere (uniqueness) and becoming like anyother shopping area. I am disappointed."
"Sounds like the same list of stores at any mall or outlet in Orlando or Tampa."

I just thought it was interesting to see the feedback. I think they've done an amazing job with renovating the property, I will give them that.

Yeah I didn't get outlet feel either with the released list. I am not sure what people thought when that many buildings were gonna be built. It can't all be unique Disney stuff.

I just said I won't shop at them. I don't shop at Universal shops either or for that matter most outlet/mall stores. I am just not the target market any of these places are going for.

I think you and I saw the same posts lol

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if these commentators saw the "Town Center" concept art and just assumed that's what Disney Springs will entail. If they just went off that, I could see why they think it's just another outlet mall.

I didn't get outlet but I certainly got "mall."

Under Armour has a half dozen stores within 15mins of Disney Springs at the various malls and outlet malls.

Think of it this way - no one went to Downtown Disney for Black Friday deals because none of the shops were those types of stores.

Now they are.

There is a distinct shift in tenant type.

Disney Springs is broken into 4 areas that all have a individual focus imo.

Marketplace - Disney merch
Town Centre - Lifestyle mall
The Landing - Dining complex
West Side - Entertainment complex

That's simplifying things obviously, but it's the best way to look at it so as not to simplify DS down even further to strictly a "outlet mall".

It only has one bus stop. It's one place.

Because T-rex has multiple dining rooms does not make it multiple restaurants.

And don't forget the big giant ugly parking garages. You either arrive by bus at the landing or on the east or west end of the landing via Garage.

ummm... ok?

My point was that there are different areas to DS than just what was announced today, which is what people are complaining about. Only one section is a proper "mall" type area.

But that one section is the one guests will be funneled through. It'd be like saying "well Epcot is very Japanese and has plenty of Japanese stuff" when considering the Japan pavilion... But all guests have to walk past Spaceship Earth and are going to be very confused if you try to identify the main park as Japanese.

You're trying to say people won't see Disney Springs as a glorified mall when the largest, main area - the ones guests will be forced to go through to get to the others once construction is complete - is a glorified mall.

A better simplification:

Marketplace - Disney MALL
Town Centre - MALL
The Landing - Dining and MALL
West Side - MALL with Entertainment.

Yes, it's a fricken mall.

But what people were complaining about was what you categorize as "MALL". That's a true categorization, but the point is, there's more to the springs than the bland stores in Town Centre.

This is the real oversimplification. I understand Towne Centre is a mall, but the rest is too unique to be considered a real mall.
