Just watched the Mouseketeer at Walt Disney World thing and holy crap that’s 1970’s at it’s cheesiest. It honestly seems like they just threw a VHS recording on here and forgot to edit because they left the commercials in... which oddly makes it better because it cranks up the cheese factor to 1000 with commercials for now defunct brands.

There's a whole River Country segment and they wrote a whole song about the park too

There’s also some pretty awkward flirting between female minors and an adult man. There’s also a scene with a teen who walks in to an older guys room with just her towel on as if she just got out of the shower...

I wonder how they decided which commercials to leave in and which ones to take out? It was PAINFUL to watch for the horrible acting, but loved seeing the castle the way it's supposed to look.

The run time was 55 minutes so I guess they had to have cut a solid 5 minutes right? Interesting to think about.

And yeah, the acting was terrible, but I was more interested in the stuff like seeing River Country or the train at Fort Wilderness.

Watch the Disneyland Special, it was good the second half was just reused footage which as i kid would have liked but skipped most of it now. I like seeing everything getting made and I'm currently reading a book about the park's opening so feels like a great way to see what I've been reading about.
Think they should add the long opening day video as well, even if edited

It's still PG-13 and that's really all that Disney has promised they would stay within. They never said "we won't go dark". And with how much of a joke this movie has turned into, it would be a big get for Disney+ imo as I think a lot of people would be interested in FINALLY seeing it, especially if the reviews are good for it.

Hamilton is pretty much for Adults and is on Disney plus.
So this film which is PG 13 should be fine.

Also finished the making of Mando and moved on to The Making of the Disney Parks, both are really well done and love hearing the passion of these artists

I mean, we'll see. I've heard the reason THE WATCHER IN THE WOODS isn't on the service yet is because Disney's leery about kids stumbling on it even as a PG-rated film, and THE NEW MUTANTS is certainly going to be a more intense movie than that.

It was rated PG before PG-13 existed as a rating. Back then there was no middle ground, it was either PG or R.

I still think they'd have little issue putting The New Mutants on the service. After putting Hamilton on there, i'm not not gonna be surprised at The New Mutants. I never would've thought Hamilton with as much cursing is in it would be allowed and go almost completely unedited, but that's where we are.

And let's be honest, Disney+ is extremely short on exclusive content right now and COVID hasn't helped with the stoppage of filming or else we'd be getting The Falcon & Winter soldier next month.

Where did you hear they are hesitant to put Watcher in the Woods on the service?

As for comparing Hamilton to New Mutants, I really don't know what kid saw Hamilton listed on there and would be anxious to sit through it. An X-Men film is a different story.

Either way, I still believe is isn’t happening because of what some of us discussed the other day.

Unless Disney cut a deal to buy the streaming rights for this movie AND they come to an agreement so the movie doesn’t have to play in theaters (there’s a clause requiring it to hit theaters right now), then Disney probably hold out or just does a deal to take it out of theaters and onto PVOD before hitting HBO.

Disney isn’t gonna throw tons of money at a movie that’s done only to put it on Disney+.

I'm expecting a release date for The Right Stuff announced tomorrow. This series finished production in Early December of last year. It just needed post-production work.

I'm expecting a release date for The Right Stuff announced tomorrow. This series finished production in Early December of last year. It just needed post-production work.

Might as well bring all the musicals to Disney+. I imagine most of the popular shows (Lion King, Beast, Frozen) already have recordings for posterity and these live musical versions of classic Disney movies will likely draw the same large crowds that go see the live-action remakes.

Also, what the hell, bring Aida too.

I really don't think even Aladdin is going to be anywhere near Hamilton quality and IF there is recordings of other musicals, it's probably just one camera facing the stage. Most of Disney's musicals have never been given the pro shot treatment because it's not cheap (Hamilton was $12M). For Hamilton, $12M was a no doubter to record that show. But for other shows it becomes a lot more iffy and people need to determine what's worth it and what isn't. Also, Frozen is now done on Broadway and it wasn't there all that long for a Disney show. I'm highly doubtful that they recorded it properly although possibly opening night? The Lion King has been around a long while so I wouldn't be surprised if it's been filmed properly once.
