I'm most excited for Soarin', to be honest. Don't really care much for Star Wars or Avatar, but I'm interested to see what's in store for Disneyland.

I'm a little sad they didn't mention anything about Marvel possibly coming to DCA. Not complaining though! They announced SO much today. Hopefully they share more specific details over the next few days about these projects (like possible opening dates and what not).

Hyperspace Mountain and the temporary Star Wars stuff is very exciting, and cool that Star Tours is getting an update too! I'm happy so much is getting announced.

The one thing I hate is us getting Soarin' Around the World. I was hoping that it would be exclusive to Epcot, where it fits, and Shanghai, in their version of Adventureland. Ours should stay Soarin' Over CALIFORNIA in Disney CALIFORNIA Adventure. Pretty depressing, in my opinion, Soarin' has always been my absolute favorite. I'm sure I'll love the new version but you can't beat the nostalgia of Over California for me.

And to think...they HAVEN'T announced everything! Beyond all that was announced, we'll probably still keep getting little projects, like little effects updates to some of the attractions, like Indy, Big Thunder, and some of the Fantasyland attractions have been getting recently. Not to mention the future inevitable Marvel attractions for Disneyland and the 3rd gate, as well as other upcoming attractions coming to the reimagined DHS. Good time to be a theme park fan!

Star Wars Launch Bay & the newly revamped Marvel Expo inside Innoventions should be open late Oct/Early November. It is also rumored that there will be a Star Wars Ep7 preview inside the Captain EO Tomorrowland theatre.. I wouldn't be surprised if Star Tours got its update this year as well, but I can see them waiting for that to debut with the new event next year

I'm beyond thrilled about the new event though... mostly because of the themed food/drinks (Vader cupcakes & blue milk ice cream FTW!) I would kill for Disneyland to bring Hyperspace Hoopla to the event since WDW got rid of it for SWW last year. Such a sad sad day (kinda like HHN losing B&T here).

I'd say Marvel additions to DCA will get announced next year most likely because they want to focus on Star Wars right now with the new movie. I mean, they did scrap the 60th museum for the Launch Bay experience.

I don't know how much credibility there is to this but I read they won't start construction on Star Wars Land until late 2017. Why would they wait so long for something that's going to make them a butt load of money?

Simple: Star Wars Land is supposed to be the grand center of the WDW 50th anniversary and is eyeing an opening around 2020 to 2021. Meanwhile Disneyland needs to ramp up their hotel and parking infrastructure as well before opening Star Wars Land. That's why we got the announcements (to dial down the "Universal good, Disney bad" tone in the fandom nowadays, which is a bit of Disney's own fault), but these are still as the saying goes, "far, far away".

That said: it looks GREAT. Still curious on exact location specifics but oh man dat concept art is the freaking best.

I don't see why they wouldn't say ToonTown if they were eventually going to reveal it. People have looked into things and with a crapload of clearance, 14.5 acres comes immediately available.

ToonTown is best for it to stay, although they need to keep up the place now that it's safe. Give some FL-style upgrades to Roger Rabbit, please add some more hills near the west side where SWL is going to be, and do SOMETHING with "Chip and Dale's Old Treehouse that Don't Do Nut'in". (get it... nuts? because they're chipmunks)

And yes, even with this new news... people are still moping around that in a year or so they won't get to pet goats at Disneyland anymore.

If we include the (presumably) massive show buildings for the two rides, I actually find 14 acres to be a tad small for this. I assume the 14 includes such?

If Toontown is staying, I really hope they have another entrance to SWL there to make flow more tolerable.

And now the conspiracy continues: Disneyland Today refuses to answer any questions specifically on the state of Toontown. What the-- really?! Why even confirm anything to settle fears but refuse to settle the biggest one?!

Freak, if you look at the aerial shot above.... you can see the entrance for Star Wars Land would be behind Big Thunder Mountain, where the ranch entrance is now. I'm not sure if they would even bother having an entrance/exit to the new land via Toontown...

As for construction... I heard they would start at the end of next year (2016). *shrugs* We'll just have to wait & see, I just don't want to wait 10 years for it to be done. I wantz it now! lol

It'd be cool if our Star Wars land opened up before Orlando's. I know they wanna time their opening to the rebranding of the park (DHS) as well as the 50th anniversary, so I hope construction of ours will start soon. They can work on building the new parking structure and Star Wars Land simultaneously, just as USH is doing with Potter and Parking.

Oh god... I just realized that DHS' 50th anniversary isn't until 2039.... *dies*

From what I've seen floating around the internet, it seems Star Wars Land will open in 2024... so 9 years... Guess my joking complaint about having to wait 10 years wasn't too far off. They should start construction sooner rather than later (and by sooner, I mean they should've started already). I'm happy for the stuff we're getting later this year & early next year, but still.... that is going to be one long agonizing wait...

If they're building it back in Big Thunder Ranch area then construction won't interfere with the rest of the park so I feel like they could start construction on it (and the new parking garage) soon. I understand why it'll be a while before WDW starts their construction but Disneyland could open their's first. No need to have them open at the same time.

Its pretty ridiculous how long Disney is having us wait for this stuff. Come on. It CANT be open later than 2021. No way.
