Bummer. Me too... Would have been nice if not expensively outdated by now. Ever get a chance to ride Cartoon Spin out at DL?

The right half of the park is perfect (minus the hat). The left half is... Confused. I do like the idea of having Muppet Studios, Pixar Studios, Lucasfilm Studios, etc.

I do like the Echo Lake area though. It would be near perfect if they just had a nice family attraction in the Sounds Dangerous/Idol complex.

I have no idea, but my gut tells me no.

1) Al Lutz is often hilariously wrong about WDW. Pretty good with DL, terrible about WDW.
2) He says it will be a full Cars Land...yet no Luigi's or some other buildings
3) He's apparently tight with George K. I wouldn't be surprised if George leaked some "true" info to Al to get his first week in WDW off to a good start.
4) No way in hell WDW builds RSR and all that rock work by 2015 or early 2016. It too them 3 years to build a fraction of that in New Fantasyland

I would suggest that Al is very likely right about MGM/Carsland. He is very intentional in what he includes in his columns.

The only way I'll believe that is if I see Thierry Coup and Mark Woodbury walking around on-site.

One thing I have to wonder about Cars Land coming to WDW is the Orlando climate. Cars Land virtually shuts down in the rain. It''s easy to put a roof over Mater's Junkyard Jamboree, but Radiator Springs Racers can't run in the rain, and often experiences problems when trying to get back up after a rain storm.

No, it certainly is a biggie. When your resort's headlining attraction is shutting down for possibly days at a time during the summer months, it's going to piss people off.

Test Track is a different animal because of the park it's in.

Agreed. They have to evolve the ride system design for Florida or their downtimes and reduced capacity will be a nightmare. Especially with FP. You think TSMM is bad, just wait.

Based on their recent track record, I can't see how you can believe they could build anything substantial by 2016. Unless numbers really are way down, and Anaheim doesn't wanna wait for a long, drug out TDO project. But if it's something that's going in by 2016, I don't have high hopes right now.

Normally I would agree with you. However, if they want it done fast as a clone, they can do it. Universal doesn't have a monopoly on a quick CPM. Entire parks use to be built in that timeframe.

The key word is "want". They have "wanted" to be cheap, if dogs and cats are now living together, sure they could do it.

Transformers and Carsland couldn't be any more different as clones. Transformer took over for one building, and really is just a giant warehoues. But if they're planning on a legit Carsland, that means rockwork. That means landscaping. That means the other shops, food places, and probably attractions that would come with it. Considering ground hasn't broke, that gives them 2 and a half years max. The fact is, 2016 means cut corners.

I would prefer Incredibles as well...
Carsland is fine in DCA. Its fits the theme better.
Orlando could use a super-hero themed area like the Incredibles since, you know, they can't use those OTHER super-heroes there.

@Manx

I agree, utilize superheroes that are available, and besides Incredibles is a little Marvel themed anyway. And I feel like Incredible could be less of a hassle to make, as long as they make it one ride and then fade into other Pixar movies like Ratatouille, Monsters Inc maybe even a small meet and greet area for Pixar characters.

I know the difference between the two. They can pull off Carsland in that time if that "want" to. If they pay for it. Harder projects on Disney's end have been accomplished in that timeframe over the last 45 years.
