I am not sure how, with Cars being a popular PIXAR movie that, it wouldn't fit the theme of PIXAR PLACE.

I think he meant it being more California themed than studio themed. And he's a little right, it'd look out of place, like there's the studios and then there's Radiator Springs. Even Pixar Place still looks studio themed.

I prefer the plan that just had the Cars Ride (preferably with some rock work) - but not the fully realized Route 66 town. In favour of also including the Monster's Coaster and Ratatouille dark ride + restaurant. Pixar place in my mind should be the fantasyland of DHS, with snippets of franchises, but not necessarily fully realized lands.

Kind of new fantasyland thematically but with E tickets...

I am against cloning generally, but I think having the three franchises added together will help break it up (and not seem like they just cheaped out), and DCA will still have the "full Carsland experience".

Personally, I think Cars Land would be a great addition to the park. I'm actually surprised that some people think that it wouldn't fit; if anything, DHS is the perfect place for it. The whole theme of DHS is to immerse guests in movies, and give them that movie-scene feel. However, I would be more than willing to give up Radiator Springs for a Star Wars Land

If Universal can create an immense area for Potter in a studios park, then I think Disney could do the same for Cars Land at DHS. The only problem would be that everything at DHS is scattered around the park, and there is no cohesiveness there as there is at USF. I wouldn't mind Cars Land, but with DHS the way it is, maybe just putting Pixar rides in that area would be better.

At this point don't expect Radiator Springs Racers to ever happen in FL.

No judgmental offense taken. That is a valid example of questioning. The truth is my basis is just on facing realities. Typically a cloned ride is done within the original it is based from's opening. With a few exceptions to that rule would be cloned parks such as the original Magic Kingdom. We also seem to be talking about a very large scale E ticket with a very different WDW managment style. Also, Cars merch wise was by no means a flash in the pan but for such a strong brand and a park that needs it they would of jumped on something by now. I don't see that being the large scale E-ticket based off of it at this point.

Disney is fine already dragging outs its Snow White and Avatar based projects. By the time those are done Carsland's buzz will have dwindled a bit and the first huge hot wave of cars fans will be driving their own real cars by those years.

Even if Carsland FL will have a major attraction and only in any form Disney would of likely buzzed about it and announced it like they do all of their other four-five yers construction projects. The only other answer is they are holding onto that buzz for the Potter 2 announcements.

The only argument I have against yours splatter which I agree with on several aspects in the budget crunchers at TDO. They want it simply because they don't have to fork over the R&D since they already did at DL.

Right, Cars Land would be an effortless "plug and play" Blockbuster (like Transformers). TDO can't take the time to develop an original attraction because Potter is about to kick them in the teeth AGAIN! They have to move quickly, and that is something TDO is not used to. RSR is a proven hit, the R$D is done, and they need to move quickly. All signs point to Cars Land as their "Potter Swatter".

Can anyone else smell the desperation?

It's getting positively rancid right about now, but it started smelling right around that announcement for Animal Kingdom in 2011.

My question is - would lightning (no pun intended) strike twice?
Would Carsland in WDW have the same excitement and massive influx of guests that it did in DCA?
I think not. Anybody that would make a special trip to California to see Carsland open already did it. It fit the theme. It also wasn't just adding a land...it was a complete re-imagining of the main entrance. Plus a refurb of Paradise Pier. And Oh yeah, the D-ticket WDW got a clone of in their New Fantasyland. And...something I'm forgetting.
My point is put something in that will put @$$3$ in the seats.
WOW US!
Do something that hasn't been done and then don't do it again.
Can they do that still?
Can they make people that live in Kansas go to both California and Florida? Not if they put the same rides and experiences at both resorts.
Do you think they're really going to move quick on anything? They never do. Potter phase two is right around the corner...even if they greenlit Carsland at the beginning of LAST year they couldn't have it done in time to even be an answer to Potter Phase 2.
Sorry for the rant but I think DHS is deserving of better than shoehorning in something that was created for a different theme park.
(also I just got back from seeing Steve Miller at Mardi Gras)
Oh yeah... DCA got the same OTHER D-ticket video game on wheels that DHS already had (with a better facade)

Lightning can absolutely strike twice, you don't understand the typical guest at these resorts. I have friends who know everything about WDW but didn't know there's an indiana jones ride in Disneyland.

Most people know there's california parks, but most of them don't know what's actually there. Worldwide marketing is mostly concerned with Orlando parks, not California ones.

I agree I just dont understand why it is taking them so long to green light anything. I mean surely they want to at least try and compete. As DH says they are about to get kicked again, harder, why not try and cushion the blow?

I honestly believe that Potter kicked them so hard that they are dazed and confused. And that the exact same debate on "clone Cars Land" vs "Unique E-Ticket" is going on in the halls of Burbank, with TDO screaming "cheaper" at any concept brought to the table.

I was kinda hoping that bringing in George K would put a stop to all the "value engineering" demanded from TDO.why on earth haven't Burbank put their foot down and kicked some serious ass? If they are dazed and confused now they are going to be well and truly :censored: soon.

Disney likes to announce things before they've even secured the deal (avatarland), it should be obvious by now that they don't even have anything in the pipe that can compete with the onslaught that's coming by 2015.

Seriously, the only thing they'll have open to compete with Uni's onslaught is the mine coaster.

Incorrect. It depends on where in the world you are from. Those in the UK and Europe would get more from WDW. Places to the South most likely get WDW, and those to the West get DL. In Australia we only ever get DL advertisement unless it comes in the form of a TV show or some other method that is not for a targeted market. There is even a ad campaign running right now out here, for DL, which contains a bit of Carsland advertisement, but nothing saying its new, all their ads just act as reminders to kids to nag their parents, for the $10 000 trip to Disneyland. WDW is hardly even known down here, some may know of it as it appears in the odd US tv show but others may just assume its another name for DL.

I should have been more specific, because you're right in that regard. But South America, the UK, and Eastern US/Central US get WDW ads, and most of these people have never even heard of cars land.

Just do something! They could honestly rework everything from the Backlot Tour over through LMA and the meet and greets. Carsland would be fantastic. Imagine TSMMs wait time if you had another mostly family friendly E Ticket addition right there.
