What if the new fireworks launch location has been put there because it will be nice and centered for a show as seen from SWL? It seems very plausible that a new night time fireworks and projection show will be shown in the land. This could be the plan, as the center of the backdrop of the land puts it in the perfect place.

It would be awesome, but Star Wars Land will already be crowded and having firework crowds there will be a nightmare.

The pad was put there because it's literally as close to center that they can possibly position a launch point. It's pretty much impossible without placing the launch pad directly on top of other things to have them centered.

Ya, it seems like both SWL and TSL will be great viewing areas. It would be crazy awesome if they could have two separate shows in each land, with different projections and music but the same pyro effects. It would make people come back to see both!

I had that thought but was too lazy to type it. lol It really would be an ingenious way to spread crowds.

Microsoft wanted to pay to have their system in the park. Disney didn't care because the park needs something anyways, and they have space to put it. Not much of a story here.

Who's saying it's a "story"? It's just something I posted in the DHS update thread because it's a change within the park for now and to let people know about it.

The only thing I was commenting on that was off about it was Disney promoting a game no longer in production.

I wasn't commenting on your update, which is appreciated. It's just my comment on the update itself.

It is weird that Infinity is on there. Is there no other Disney games on XBOX they could use?

Not really, Disney Interactive is a pretty dead part of the company. Disney Infinity was their most recent project and they have Kingdom Hearts 3 is coming under Disney Interactive if that ever happens.

Disney does have something more relevant to push though in Star Wars: Battlefront (which makes sense emptying out of that Star Wars clip show). The issue on why it's not represented likely is that Disney didn't Develop or Publish that game... it was developed by DICE and published by EA.

This space has sat empty since the early 2000's though when it used to be the post-show of Sounds Dangerous.

Anyone have an idea as to what this could be? Looks like the end of a gondola station, notice the large heavy cement anchors on the left side, connected to those two metal 'arm' structures. Doesn't make any sense why it's in this location though, so I'm guessing not for the gondola.

Great work. I know we have various drone footage of SWL and TSL but these are the first images I've seen where you can fully see the sheer scale of the overhaul.

I agree that it's a substation, as it's even marked that way on the Orange County map, but it's odd. If you look at the Google Map version, it's there but has trees all around it. Substations usually have power lines running in and out of them and where those run the trees are cut back along the path. This doesn't have that. I'm just kinda curious what the set up is on that deal.

If you look at the top of the overall shot, you can see an identical setup (substation) on the other side of the park. I would assume they are bringing in a parallel feeder with more juice to help support all the new ride infrastructure. Once they get going, I can see them maybe clearing a line of trees running up to the new cast member parking lot/costume building area.
