I thought it worth noting that The Comedy Warehouse Holiday Special did not return this year. DHS was at a lack of space and it was a very popular seasonal offering, but they could've easily taken out Path of the Jedi for a few months and packed in the old Sounds Dangerous theatre. That building would be running at a much higher capacity than it is now, that's for sure.

Of course Disney probably thought it wasn't worth paying the actors anymore so just be done with it and finally put CW to rest for good I guess.

I think your last sentence was probably the actual reason.

I'm hearing talk from several cast members that a long running show at DHS will be closing in the near future. Does anyone have an specifics on this?

Orlando Theme Park News: Cast Costuming Building Relocating at Hollywood Studios

So the Cast Costuming building at DHS, which is behind indy and backs up to the current Cast Parking, is being moved over basically in the direction of where the Phineas & Ferb M&G was near MV3D.

The move, along with parking lot expansion, virtually signifies that expanded parking they are paving will be cast parking. The move also makes it easier to expand beyond park boundaries if they ever want to expand into the parking lot, as moving Cast Costuming is moving the most vital piece of backstage infrastructure at DHS for CMs.

Honestly you could say that any of the 3 long running shows at DHS are in trouble, but I assume you are talking about BatB as that's the most heavily rumored for the near future. Once TSL open I wouldn't count on Mermaid being safe for too long either.

Of course if they're moving the Cast Wardrobe building as stated above, that would leave a giant plot of land to expand on if EPIC were to close.

I feel like that will happen eventually. I would love to see a full Indy land if it were to happen... it could sort of fill as the Adventureland for DHS. With new Indy movies on the way too it would make sense.

Expand Indy, remove Star Tours to add more and that's a nice amount of land for Indy.

Once upon a time, there was a concept where Indyland was real. Indy Adventure & the coasters found in Paris/Tokyo will be the attractions.

Yeah, honestly i'd be perfectly fine with them removing the ST building if all they're gonna do is retheme the ride after ST ends.

I've heard that ST could feel a tad redundant once the Millennium Falcon ride opens, anyway.

Think how much space ST and the Jedi thing takes up rip it out and let Indy expand into the available space, + if they do remove the costume building that is even more space that could be available, also what is the building that is next to the costuming building ?

That's the parade building. It's not confirmed or not if the parade is still in there but apparently the facility is still largely in use.

I assume it could easily be moved though without much push back if they wanted to.

If we next see that that building is being moved that may mean they have plans for perhaps an expansion of some sort, of course it may not it may just mean more parking spaces.

They wouldn't turn park space into a parking lot. I mean for one they simply can't because of how backstage at DHS works. There's a perimeter road that goes around the park just beyond those buildings so any parking would impede on park ops.

If those buildings get demolished, I wouldn't jump to the automatic conclusion that an expansion is imminent, but it does mean they are making it extremely easy for when they finally decide to pull the trigger since backstage buildings will have already been moved.

From Orlando Theme Park News. The new Cast Costuming building is essentially going behind Star Tours on the site of the current back entry plaza. The lanes will be temporarily altered until the new parking lot entrance is opened. The current entry way into the parking lot that's at the stop light by the BoardWalk is slated to close completely once this is finished.

Cast Parking will be adjacent wherever the building is - it needs to be for accessibility and such. So how does that work with it being so close to all the guest traffic?

They're not going to have the cast walk across lanes of guest traffic.

That entrance is closing within a year (to make way for the new interchange entrance) and they are currently paving a new CM lot that is across from where the new building will be located.
