Have you been on both? Because Radiator Springs Racers does everything Test Track does and ramps them up to eleven. It's better in every conceivable way.

I have been on both I find RSR miles better in theming and design, I was just making the general point we variety in the US why does disney have to copy/paste every ride they build??

It's cheaper and quicker. That doesn't make it right, but that's the truth.

True true and Disney will use the excuse that not everyone makes it or wants to make it to both coasts

Yes and no, because there is some honesty to that. I myself am an example. While I frequent the Orlando Parks often, trips to Cali are nearly impossible. So in a way yes, that's a truthful reason. However, a better business move would be to make that an incentive for people to try harder to get to their other parks, rather than clone these rides. Separate unique experiences make for more incentive to travel. But alas, I don't ever see this happening.

Glad to hear this! Let's see if Disney excites me enough to gets my business again! A few days ago, my friend proposed getting Disney APs and I had to hold back the laughter not to make her feel bad for the idea. I just blew it off on the price issue. I wouldn't go to Disney more than once a year, and I'd be fine not going for a few years... These rumors are exciting, and hopefully in a few years we'll see a new Disney that retains it's essence, but also shows more progress and keeps the guests excited with new experiences and improvements, like Universal has been doing for the past few years. And obviously, Disney fans or not, we all win when any Orlando theme park raises the bar and encourages competition

I think Test Track and RSR are different enough that they could coexist in the same Resort. It would be no different then Spiderman and Transformers coexisting within the same Resort as well. Although they both use the same Ride System they delever completly different experiances. I have a feeling that if it is only RSR and Flo's coming to DHS as part of a Pixar Place expansion then we will see RSR sitting in the back of the land similar to it does at DCA. However instead of the Courthouse being in front of the attraction thats where Flo's would be placed. I also wouldn't be suprised to see the Que themed diffrent from Stanley's Oasis since we won't be seeing the entire land. Since you do pass thru the Town in the ride it almost seems that the ride could stand alone from the land.

Concerning TT to RSR. TT now focuses on the design focus of the attraction as the selling point while RSR focuses on the ride portion and environments. They are both experiences worth visiting for different reasons despite having the same system.

Whenever someone says "RSR can't come because TT is next door," I laugh. I don't see people complaining about Transformers coming to USF when Spiderman is yards away

Plus TT and RSR have more focus on the ride systems then other ride types. TT (well the original at least I haven't been since 2008) more so then RSR. The ride system used in spiderman and transformers is more generic.

Although the similarities are nothing to complain about anyway.

With TDO not wanting to do the full Carsland could they do slight redesign of the ride and make it a race track theme rather then its current desert theme. It would mean they wouldn't need to build the rockwall (sure they never would of in the first place) and it would fit in with lights motors action. Although this is of course if they haven't already changed their minds about RSR.

Don't get concerned with keeping light motors action or even backlot kill them both and do something new. ridership is down on all of them the only reason those budget killing attractions are kept is TDO doesnt want the back half of there park without any attractions

This is from Screamscape and this is going into the Shangai Disneyland...could this actually end up being our Monsters Inc ride too? :ack:

In an interesting story, Disney apparently files for a new patent about 8 months ago for an interesting new ride system. The ride system is described as an Omnimover style dark ride system with a twist… the ability to cross over or intersect with it’s own track. For example, the drawings submitted show off a ride system that has one loading station, but upon exitings the cars split up into two different ride tracks that twist and intersect with each other along the way, returning to one of two different unload platforms before reuniting once again as one ride system in the loading station.

While on the subject of the drawings, submitted to us “via CON”, the theme of the ride’s cars as well as the whole attraction used clearly shows off a Monsters Inc. themed dark ride. It’s also interesting to note that the ride cars are connected to the ride track both through the floor as well as a pole going up from the car into the ceiling.
Given the amount of work Disney is preparing for the new park in Shanghai, I wouldn’t be surprised if this ends up being a new attraction that may premier at that park first. There is a bit more information in the details of the patent, but I’m going to try to read through it all first before saying any more, so stay tuned.

Could be. Looks better than the coaster/more in line with what the park needs, that's for sure.

But Disney patents things all the time and never uses them

Have you actually riden a Vekoma Family Suspended Coaster (rumored to be the ride system for the MI Door Coaster)? It is possibly the most painful kiddie coaster on the planet.

The layout of that proposed Monsters, Inc. dark ride looks like it would fit quite nicely in the 'sound stage' next to Toy Story Midway Mania at DHS.
