Doesn't surprise me in the least when I was a younger and worked there about 7 or 8 yrs ago there were lots of creepy older people that at time I couldnt tell whether they were being friendly or had deeper plots. Not all people are bad but some just are. When you think about it though, and I'm not defending here, when you are a company that hires over what I think is now well over 50k people they are not all gonna be perfect and well behaved. If even 1% of that 50k breaks the law thats still 500 hundred people.

If wages kept up with inflation from 1971, maybe it wouldn't be so hard for them to find good employees. I remember a time when getting a job at Disney was as hard as winning the lotto. They had more >qualified< applicants than they knew what to do with.

Agreed, I had heard in the past is what a lot easier to smile and deal with peoples problems all day for the better pay rates comparable to the times

Its a shame what they pay cast members. But there's only so much money available when your CEO makes $40 million (including stock options) a year. And cast members have to actually be nice with people instead of surly and arrogant.

When you employ so many people and pay a certain amount, you're going to get bad people. Hell they bus people in from out of Orlando who would take the jobs.

What's interesting about this is it slightly conflicts what we were told when we renewed our AP's on Monday. They gave us the normal paper passes but said it was because the new "plastic ones w/ RFID chips weren't ready yet" and that they'd switch them out when they were. I asked about the bands and he said AP's could buy them if we wanted to (not given to us as is stated in the linked article). Either way I don't care, I'm just glad we're getting plastic media.

I also asked about the Fastpass+ situation for AP's, saying there was a lot of confusion and concern in the themepark community on how this would work. The CM said he didn't have direct knowledge on the system but that his understanding was that they were using years of data from the current FP system to ensure there were adequate FP+'s available to AP's on any given day. I don't know if that factors into the rumored quarterly allotment or not.

I asked the same thing about the RFID on the passes when I renewed mine 2 weeks ago and she just said they would be swapping them out but never did say if there was a cost or anything about the bands.

I am also glad we will no longer have paper passes. I handed one of our nurses my husband's pass for parking because we were meeting her out there with our kids and her comment was, "This is it?" LOL I think everyone expects plastic passes. Of course Universal went from plastic to paper, which I always thought was silly. But I guess they do cost more to produce, but always thought the picture made it so others could not use it.

I think WDW should have always had plastic passes, I mean they already give and let hotel guests keep their rooms keys and that's for a short time

To my knowledge Uni has plastic passes still today but only for Premier pass holders (top tier)

I know back in the mid 2000s Universal had plastic passes for years. I still have a few of mine at home from over the years.

I believe even premier is paper now. People with plastic cards who keep renewing still have the old school ones.

The plastic ones kind of look like landscape school IDs. And they say "Annual Pass" in big letters and have a big barcode on the bottom.

Back to Disney, I'm excited about not having a paper ticket to get entry into the parks.

Yes, those are plastic, but when you go to the park and exchange it, they give you a paper one I know because I did that one year - lol
