I think everyone needs to dramatically lower their expectations in terms of new rides, even flats.

but what if i want the biggest thing that defies expectations? /s (please don't ban)

In all seriousness, if this is prodomimently a kid based land with playground elements, rethemes, and highly interactive elements; that feels like a really good step up when paired with high class theming. I look at Frisco with this in mind, almost like it'd be a test bed for what is to come.

___

that being said, no Megamind makes it become a 0/10. I'm sorry, but you know the rules, and so do I.

I do hope that they find a way to get a second train on the Trollercoaster. Otherwise, yeah, if we get brand new, great-looking play areas and meet and greet spaces for properties that haven't been largely forgotten... that's a win. I'd love an additional dark ride and flat somewhere down the road, but it's just important to set expectations here.

I think considering they are going through the trouble of retheming the coaster, I have to hope they do the smart thing (but my mind would ask "does the coaster have a transfer storage space already? Or could they retrack a small portion just to add this".

I think it'd certainly be the smart move, either that or they see if they can cut a deal to get Zamperla onboard to figure out how to make that work (As I could've sworn it has been speculated that they are already playing a hand in Frisco's development).

Whether where a parade building is or a tent, any expansion in that direction could affect HHN in some way, but wouldn’t need to use all of it.

It’s also possible they keep the Ball Factory only for now, and pull a Dragon Challenge where eventually that area back there is replaced with something better someday when the time comes, without expanding outside the existing footprint.

In any case, no new rides for now.
Old Parade would make most sense for a potential future ride addition as it is located directly next to the land and aside from HHN, the old parade is more or less disposable now.

Since this would be a future addition anyway, if they were to ever think this way, they would have plenty of time to figure out how to reconfigure the event with a new location.

It’s also possible it could also only be a few year hurdle for HHN if something like this happened and when building the ride, they could build a space that is capable of utilization for HHN built into the project.

Yeah, there needs to be one loading while the ride is going. Popularity is bound to increase.

On paper, that's a great collection of characters and stories that naturally lend themselves to theme park use.

Whether or not they're all being utilized (or will be utilized) to their fullest potential is another discussion!

Hey, I’m of the opinion that Disney doesn’t even utilize their properties the best in WDW. Like, Aladdin just gets a spinner?

If they go that route, it will be interesting to see what DW IP could get a mini land and dark ride. Maybe a totally new DW property that hasn't even come out yet.

Looking at what could occupy a small space, dark ride wise, there's a good article by Robert Niles on Theme Park Insider this morning. Sally has just designed a new dark ride shooter that's opening in Cannery Bay, Monterey, Ca. It's only 8,000 sq. feet , but it's very impressive and immersive. Check out the video on TPI.

The Trollercoaster is doing a lot of heavy lifting in the land being the only actual ride. I wish they could have found a way to squeeze in the 2 flats (Carousel and Lantern Spinner) from the Kung Fu Panda land in Beijing.

Maybe in 2025? I could see a small addition at USF/IOA that year to interest guests coming for Epic Universe.

My big question: how many trains will be running on the Trollercoaster?

Because that thing could have one heck of a line based on theme/IP popularity alone. One train at a go would be ABYSMAL capacity.

They could add a 2nd train, they have the track & blocking to do it currently, they just need to add a transfer/mech area.

I hope they do it, it's bound to be more popular now, but I doubt they actually do it.

they're both off-the-shelf vekoma models, but hippogriff is a bit larger [335m model vs. 207m model].

There’s really no reason that they couldn’t have. There’s plenty of space for small-ish flats back where the Curious George area was. At the very least one would’ve even helped a lot.

I believe at a conference call this year or last year Comcast mentioned they were bullish on both DreamWorks and illumination for theme park attractions. Which means they will be more DreamWorks attractions created beyond this land and HTTYD at EU. Back to this DreamWorks land. Is it possible that if they do decide to expand the land with more attractions Animal Actors could be considered for removal in addition to this possible rumored new ride going in at the back of the land? I measured the AA plot including the courtyard outside the ride, the arena itself and what I presume is the area the animals rest and it comes up to around 53,000 square feet which would easily hold something size wise on par with SLOP or Web Slingers.

Hypothetical -

2024 - KidZone Featuring Dreamworks opens
2026 - Small flat added (KFP Lanterns)
2028 - Dark ride added (tied into Shrek reboot)

Suddenly, you’ve turned your single expansion into three.

As we know, theme park “phase 2”s are always absolutely reliable and should be considered when evaluating any expansion.

Genuine question… are flats that expensive? I just don’t see why 1 new flat can’t make it for next year. I’m not doubting the theming will be major upgrade but it feels like a lantern flat ride for KFP would do wonders.

Might be a reluctance to add the employees that would operate it, rather than the cost of a flat. USF seems to be on a thrifty phase.

So I'm not expecting Potter-level theming, but should we be expecting pretty high-level theming here?
