What if the Nintendo facade isn't based off a certain city? Maybe it could be like "Mario & Luigi Plumbing", with a pipe sticking out that can lead to Nintendo Land?

I'd be fine with a Warp Pipe tunnel. Just wow me with the actual land and attractions.

I think hiding Nintendo would be silly. It just doesn't make sense for that IP. It made sense for Diagon. I am hoping that peaches castle will be very much the central point and people will know what is back there from seeing the castle.

What if Peach's Castle was the Diagon-like façade?

Just spitballing, but having it be the entrance would be cool

I strongly agree. I would think that's the way to go. A memorable, stunning, kind of Disney like icon.

Agreed. That would fit.

But I can't believe people think a Japanese facade would work. The source material is not Japanese based like HP is London based. Just because the creators live there does not mean that would tie in at all. Because it would not.

I personally think it should be behind a facade. I mean, look at what's along the lagoon... San Francisco? Real city. London? Real city. Springfield? Not a real city, but an exaggerated satire of real towns/cities. Mushroom Kingdom? Completely fantasy kingdom. I know not everyone might care, but it would bother me. That's why I like the idea of a "warp pipe" taking you to the Mushroom Kingdom through a facade. That said, it doesn't exactly need to be a Tokyo facade.

I completely agree..Simpsons works because it uses realish-world urban environments...Nintendo will be complete fantasy (IOA-ish)..But maybe it just matters too much to me haha

Or they could have the facade just as the Nintendo store, and have some giant horizontal pipes as an entry into the land. So you could enter the land through the nintendo store, or through the pipes.

If the mountainscape happens for the sides of Springfield and Hollywood, a part of me hopes that for Springfields; you guys get a version of the Burns mansion and Springfield sign, like Hollywoods.

But..should it be best to get back onto the topic of ET May/may not close? I mean, its not a bad idea.

Tokyo has nothing to do with Nintendo. Their headquarters is in Kyoto lol.

I heard E.T has four more years left. Like they would try to talk to Spielberg and see if he wants to do a new E.T movie. If yes, they would redo the ride. That's just some random talk I heard. Who knows lol.

Spielberg will NEVER, EVER do another E.T. film. He's said as much many, many times; he brainstormed a sequel in the early 1980s (inspired by a pitch he crafted for another alien-related movie called NIGHT SKIES, elements from which found their way into E.T., POLTERGEIST, and GREMLINS), but quickly came to realize it would be a bad move.

So if the ride's survival were conditional on another E.T. movie, then the ride is as good as gone. I am not, however, convinced that's at all the case.

If Spielberg REALLY cared about E.T as much as everyone thinks he'd say "fix this thing, it looks like crap."

His money comes from the front gate numbers and that's all he cares about.

If E.T is in the way of expansion (and it is), it will go.

I like the idea but wouldn't a facade have to be relatively flat? I'd imagine that a castle like that would need a good deal of depth, however a 2d facade would fit into the Nintendo world.

I really hope they take a lot of influence from this gem of a game.

I liked it but it doesn't come close to the perfection of Galaxy.

Why do I think that 4 Years is too long for the closure of ET to take place. Unless your meaning of its replacement opening in 2020, I doubt that your friends are right..but as you said; who knows.
