I remember going to the park as a kid before Jurassic Park ever even opened, and I've been a million times that I can count since. Been to all sorts of theme parks from coast to coast and around the globe. But nothing, no matter how fantastic in design or scope or thrill, has
ever hit the sort of sweet spot feeling for me of that period of time where ET, Jurassic Park, Back to the Future, and the King Kong Encounter coexisted with one another, along with things like T2, the Wild Wild Wild West show, Backdraft, and Beetlejuice's Revue or even Fievel's Playland and the fleeting existence of the Land Before Time show. Hell, I even remember seeing the Power Rangers Live show in 1994 at the Amphitheatre!
I love Universal, but that "era" will always be
my Universal, one where I'd ride ET a bunch of times only to make my parents suffer waiting for me to ride Jurassic Park as many times as I could right before park would close, back when you'd be able to have the boat all to yourself and staff would just ask me if I "wanted to go again" and let me stay on the boat rather than get off. Crazy how seeing those videos, even for as short as they are, brought me right back to those days, where I can remember how I felt or how the ET ride smelled or even how the interior BTTF queue was just a
little chilly. Thank you for sharing the finds,
