Disney is now spending less on parks and more on media. So the overhaul has died. No Festival Center. The park remains in identity limbo until 2030-2040. Plus Nigel Channing and 2002 CG skunk Figment is here until the next decade. Disney needs to fix this pavilion now. It is the worst attraction ever. They don't care about it.

I feel there are much more pressing matters worth fixing first. This attraction, while certainly not living up to the character's potential, is fine. There are projects in process to remove outdated representations of different groups of peoples from Magic Kingdom that are more important to me personally. There are rides that are literally falling apart that should be upgraded. And new rides are more important to me on the whole over re-doing older rides that are fine.

I know some kids, and even some adults, that always ride Imagination in its current form every time they visit.

Your most hated attraction may be someone else's favorite attraction, as crazy as that may sound.

The current iteration of Imagination is not as charming as the first version, but lightyears better than the second version.

Most Disney visitors never rode the version with Dreamfinder

It's just a fun little dark ride atm....which is better than a mothballed Innoventions lol

Yea, if it were still the short-lived in between version with no Figment other than a constellation lighting effect I'd be signing every petition. That thing was insulting, telling guests they have no imagination and then berating them through scenes of boring optical illusions.

At least the only good thing in it survived, the butterfly cage.

In some alternate universe there is a Mystic Manor version of Imagination...But we're in this universe where the rest of Epcot is falling apart

I agree with all of this.

That being said, I do have one major critique of the new iteration and it is something I didn't think of on my own.

I had some friends who recently took a FIRST TIME EVER trip to Orlando.

I recommended Imagination as something with a low wait time that their kids (ages 6 and 8) would love.

They didn't.

When I asked why, they said that the little dinosaur was kind of annoying and sprayed them with a skunk.

To me, having ridden the original version, I saw Figment as a fun, enthusiastic guide to all things fantastical.

To my friends' kids, he was a pest.

I have never looked at that ride the same way since.

Just because the current version of Imagination isn't as bad as the previous iteration doesn't mean the current version is particularly good. I think it's the one attraction in the park that most fails to live up to not just its past glory, but its fundamental potential. Revamping it would be very high on my priority list. But I have zero expectation such a thing will happen within the next decade.

I'm not expecting much of anything I'd prioritize at WDW will happen in the next decade, frankly.

I mean, Imagination definitely could use a redo, but the giant pit in the middle of the land formerly known as Future World should be a higher priority. Then SSE. Then think about doing something to Imagination.

Spaceship Earth definitely needs -- and has needed for quite a while -- a new track. And, of course, the spine of Future World needs to be finished (in some capacity).

But purely in terms of a creative overhaul of an existing attraction, Imagination is the one I'd like to see.

Also some new space lighting that doesn't look like christmas lights through foam board.

This is a big factor on why I've always felt the current version is actually the worst version, it was a monkey paw situation where Figmant was fully brought back into the ride and talks, but he's not the lovable character from the original...instead he's Poochie. A annoying character who feels like they were created by a committee who thinks this is what the kids go for nowadays. For me that's a far bigger insult than downgrading him to a non-speaking cameo.

It’s actually not a difficult fix to do without even changing the ride system

Just have Figment comment that the smells they picked were too boring and couldn’t we imagine greater?

Then blast us with a pleasant smell and say it’s that of a rainbow or some such thing

Done

Not even the bupiness, the ride goes down/slows down way too much to hit a realistic throughput of guests which causes huge stand by lines.

The slowdowns are because there's a required visual inspection of the ascent/descent hill prior to restart after the cars have been stopped. To avoid that, they're quicker on the trigger with slowing the speed of the belt down.

It has nothing to do with the structure/ride vehicles themselves.

I feel like FP+ is also to blame for the inflated wait times

Disney has finally added more snack options to Morocco, this time in the form of a cart in the bazaar area...

wdwnt.com

REVIEW: Chick Peas, Nuts & Dates, Olives, Sangria, and More Available at NEW Snack Cart in Morocco Pavilion Bazaar at EPCOT - WDWNT

Today we discovered that a new snack cart has found its way to the Morocco Pavilion at Epcot and we tried the Seasoned Chick Peas and more
wdwnt.com wdwnt.com

By no means does this make up for the lack of other offerings in the pavilion currently, but it's nice to see. The olives at Tangierine Cafe were a favorite, so I'd definitely like to try this new version.

IDK if this is the right place to post this, but I'm currently listening to the soundtrack of IllumiNATIONS. Especially the holiday version of it, combined with WS during the holidays in general, might be my favorite thing at WDW ever. God I miss it terribly.

What's most striking is how important the show's message has proven to be in the year and a half since it ended.

As beautiful as the new work on the entrance is, Future World is an absolute mess right now. Went there Saturday night and the lack of lighting and walls everywhere was overwhelming. First time since Dec. 2019 and it was not pretty. Daytime navigation was OK the next day, but that evening was pretty bad.
