Universal is indeed short on real estate, Disney does not have that problem. I think it's just bad design/placement.

They aren't that short on real estate. They chose to get rid of the worth-while section of Lost Continent, only leaving the extremely boring eyesore part of the continent (save Mythos). And MK doesn't have much real estate at this point. Work on FLE started in 2009. Tangled wasn't even released until a year later. The late Skyway building was an ugly waste of space. They dozed that sucker and themed it to a highly popular film which is a good thing. I'd be very surprised if WDW didn't fill the HM queue with trees and foilage to mask the tower.

I would hardly call the remaining section of the Lost Continent an eyesore.

Also very awesome shots Don! Really like the Dumbo pic.

No, not an eyesore at all...that is, if you're into obnoxious carnival games, random bamboo/bonsai tree stores, and terrible terrible shows. It starts off strong with Mythos and the Trident then rapidly flakes apart.

While the Arabian section is weak, I still think it has some great theming and is far from an eyesore. But to each his own...

i have to hand it to Disney, Storybook Circus in entirety looks very elaborate. can't wait to actually see it in full in April.

- - - Updated - - -

and SDMT needs rockwork pronto. they can easily have the whole forest made and out to be enjoyed and just have the SDMT area sealed off or something.

From The Disney Parks Blog:

Get Ready for Laughter and Lunacy with the Storybook Circus Giggle Gang in New Fantasyland and Magic Kingdom Park

Ladies and gentlemen, children of all ages, New Fantasyland is proud to present the Storybook Circus Giggle Gang!

What would a circus be without clowns? At Storybook Circus in Magic Kingdom Park, our masters of mirth tickle your funny bone with a whirlwind of wackiness. Just wait until you meet boss clown Chuckles Buffoon McMonkeyshine III and his protégés, Whinny Horselaugh and Snort. Together, they engage in circus shenanigans, from classic calamities to clown calisthenics. They’re sure to have you in stitches!

Joining the Storybook Circus Giggle Gang is the Silly Saxtet, parading onto the circus grounds with their own unique twist on circus music standards, and featured clown Wowzer, a specialty performer who takes center ring and keeps his audience enthralled with amazing feats of thrills, chills and hilarity.

Inspired by everything from Walt Disney’s “Dumbo” to the music of Spike Jones, the Storybook Circus Giggle Gang also has its roots in the classic traditions of The Greatest Show on Earth. Several members of the ensemble are graduates of the famed Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Clown College.

“I feel like I’m going back to my roots,” said Show Director Mark Renfrow, himself a member of the Clown College Class of ’83. “People are going to be really surprised by the Storybook Circus Giggle Gang. They’re just so approachable and fun. They really bring the whole circus area to life.”
The Storybook Circus Giggle Gang debuts this week, as part of the grand reveal of New Fantasyland!

Oh good! If a giant beast and a sea witch weren't enough to make the kids run in terror, now they have clowns!

I can't wait to see all those animatronics on 7D not working :pound:

They can't keep up with Splash Moutain and the Yeti, along with other Everest effects, so it's only a matter of time this joins the animatronic strike

I wouldn't expect any of them to be all that advanced in SDMT.

What is that yellow stuff they have under the SD rockwork mesh? I have never seen it used on any themed rockwork before.

Well it was nice to see Storybook Circus when I was there, because now I may never step foot in there again. Clowns unnerve me.

Yea. With those creeps on the loose, next October will be hosting "Mickey's Mildly Disturbing Halloween Party."

I'm not even terrified of clowns like Jack when it comes to HHN. But those old school Barnum and Bailey clowns give me the creeps.

So, apparently the What's Next presentation for Dec. 7 has been cancelled. Can anyone confirm that?
