You could make that argument, but a part of me just thinks "but it's Fantasyland". I mean, it was never the land to have a headliner it was always a balanced land.

I mean you could..but it wouldn't be very wise...every land has its tentpole

i'd hardly call it a headliner, long lines or not. it's just another dark ride. and if anything before NFL i'd have called Small World the closest thing to a headliner that's the first thing you think of when you think Fantasyland. the entire area is made up of classic attractions. Peter Pan and Small World are just classic attractions.

We were at MK during our 3 day stint at Disney last week and found the FLE to be extremely disappointing. Yes, it looks nice but there just isn't enough there to keep our interest. TLM was pretty lame, we weren't going to do the Belle cardboard cutout show, Dumbo is Dumbo except there are two, Great Goofini is Barnstormer and there is the giant construction eyesore smack dab in the middle. Very disappointing indeed.

Splash Mountain is a headliner, and in no way would I ever put Peter Pan and Splash Mountain in the same category. So no, Peter Pan is not a headliner attraction. In my opinion anyway.

I'd consider the MK headliners to be the mountains, Haunted Mansion, and Peter Pan.

I just feel that FLE has been advertised too much for what it is...While the additions are great, they're not amazing and at the end of the day all this is is an expansion. If they added something new and exciting then people would be more interested, Snow White Mine Train is the closest to that and its not even open yet...

Precisely! Every other land in MK had/has some sort of iconic centerpiece attraction. Adventureland: Pirates. Frontierland: Thunder and Splash. Liberty Square: HM. Tomorrowland: Space. But what was Fantasyland's? It depends on who you ask. Some say Peter Pan, others say Small World. To kids it's quite possibly Dumbo. IMO, the centerpiece attraction in FL isn't even a ride at all, it's Cinderella's castle. What's more iconic about fantasy than that? Even with this new expansion, the centerpiece attraction of FL is still the castle; the iconic structure of WDW that continues to lure families back to the MK.

Just my opinion.

Back when I was a kid going to the Magic Kingdom (which really wasn't so long ago) Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea was what I considered the major draw/attraction of Fantasyland. So Fantasyland DID have a 'headliner' originally, it just hasn't for quite some time now. So I guess the Seven Dwarf's Mine Coaster will be the long awaited new 'headliner' whether we like it or not. Personally, I'm still holding out hope that it will be (at the very least) a semi worthy attraction, but only time will tell for sure I guess. At any rate, it will be better than the meet and greet village they had originally planned to put there.

The problem isn't that it's Fantasyland. It's that there hasn't been a significant upgrade to the MK in 21 years, and then they serve up the "biggest" expansion in MK history (the 1st in 21 years) and hey don't include a headliner. Not even one to replace the grand 20K Leagues that was removed years ago.

I do think that the Seven Dwarfs mine coaster will become the new headliner. But I also agree with some that say that fantasy land is what you make of it. Meaning a "headliner" is the ride you must ride every time you go there and I think that means different things to different people when it comes to FL. I know some who MUST ride its a small world, or MUST ride Peter Pan. For me I think the thing I like to ride every time I am there is Peter Pan. Do I think it is on the same level as HM? Probably not. Do I really enjoy it, yes. I was with friends and their must ride in FL was Pooh. lol So really everyone is different and I think that is what makes FL so special. It speaks to so many people and really has those rides you remember as a child and we all remember different things. If you asked my son he would say tea cups (if he could talk) and my daughter would probably say Dumbo play area. What they will like as they grow up will change and evolve, which is another thing special about FL. Does it need an adult headliner that is not a childhood memory? Maybe. That is where I think seven dwarfs will come into play. I think people are underestimating the uniqueness of the cars themselves because it is taking so long to build. I am frustrated with how long the build is and that is is not finished now, but that is not tainting me thought of the finished product.

See, I don't care about the exaggerated construction timeline. My frustration with TDO, is they simply act like they are not in the theme park business any longer. TDO is all about real estate and retail. They let their flagship resort stagnate for 21 years, and then serve up C and D ticket offerings. The days of The Walt Disney Co. exceeding expectations are long gone. It is now "least effort imaginable".

But let's not forget we have a multi-billion $$$$ profit maximizing data mining program, more DVC, and an expanded shopping mall...er...I mean "Lifestyle Center" coming to help you forget that they are supposed to be a theme park resort.

Personally, I think Small World is the "headline" Fantasyland attraction. Although it's really Dumbo for most toddlers.

If you go by what used to be E ticket attractions, then the headliners would be Small World, and 20K when it existed.
