Disaster was on its last legs, so it had to go anyway.

Obviously, but it's so wasteful to utilize a franchise like F&F in such a dull form if things we've heard are correct.

It reflects poorly on the franchise. That's why I love it when Uni works with people who hold them accountable and to a high standard.

I'll wait to ride the ride before saying that.

Also, let's not pretend that F&F is a respectable franchise.

It's run a course of 7 movies (soon to be 10) and made billions. No matter the quality, it's obviously loved by many... much more than say, Avatar.

Yet Pandora looks like it will be an amazing theme park land. F&F was primed to be a theme park ride from the start (fast cars/action), just like Pandora was begging to be a land (visuals). But somehow a franchise with less actual fans gets the better end of the stick.

I honestly don't see the correlation between the two in the slightest. F&F could be a decent ride, sure. but it certainly does not lend itself to thematics like Avatar does. F&F is set in places that no one wants as a theme park land.

I'm not suggesting a "F&F land", you obviously did not read my full comment.

I was saying that both were made for theme parks in their own way. Pandora with it's visuals and F&F with speed/action. I just feel like it deserves better than a simulator.

F&F may not be a "respectable franchise" in your opinion, but it's a franchise loved by many and a mega-blockbuster. The fact that so many showed that love for Fast 7 shows that, in some ways, IT IS respected.

I actually love F&F. But it's a big, bombastic larf.

I'll judge whether it "deserves better" when I ride a ride 99% of us have no idea what the final product will look like.

As will I.

As of now though, i'll remain skeptical. I actually am more excited for Fallon than this tbh.

I'm totally skeptical! It could be terrible! I don't know. But Universal has done well enough in the past 6 years that I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

I'm ok with it. I mean, obviously they could so much better with something named "fast and furious", but then, maybe this is just not how Universal sees it, because they just want to use Fast and Furious as filler. In other words, Universal does not mean for this attraction to be 'the' attraction. So that's how I think about it (and Fallon) a lesser attraction, and it is in that category that it will stand out

Unfortunately Universal doesn't have room for filler stuff..
I was thinking as well, once I got a level head about it...Do we think Universal chose the concept they did to appeal to their family market?

I get more excited about Universal ride vehicles/technology than their actual attraction themes/IPs. I guess that goes to show how awesome recent additions have been.

I disagree with this. How many individual people have seen a F&F movie vs. individual people who have seen Avatar. There are more people who have seen Avatar. Yes, F&F over their 7 movies have made more money, however, it is normally the SAME people watching the movies. Now is Avatar out of most people's minds? Yes, that is for sure. There was way too much time between the first and second movie. That is causing people to forget about it. But when Disney says Avatar is open and Universal announces F&F is open, more people will know what Avatar is and be interested in seeing it based on how beautiful the movie was. They will more want to step into that land. Less people will have seen a F&F movie and care about the IP.

This is not true. A park cannot have all E-ticket attractions. They need D and C stuff.

There really is no way to determine if this is true though.

Or many may say: "Which Avatar? The one with the blue people or The Last Airbender"

Man can Uni buy Paramount? Not for Star Trek, but for the Airbender rights?

That would be awesome. It's such an incredible series, yet such a terrible movie. I'll never understand why they chose Shyamalan...

Lol ... I never saw Avatar, and only last year found out it has nothing to do with the Last Airbender :)

I just want to go fast in this ride. Is that too much to ask for? Especially coming from a franchise called "Fast & Furious".
