I think Kong is fine at IOA, but the resort as a whole is become way too screen 3-D reliant. I hope this is the last screen ride for years.

Well, there's two more next year.

Did Kong have giant pits? I feel like Kong didn't have giant pits. FF has giant pits and subbasements.

That's the only ray of hope I have for this. The foundation and beginning stages of this are going way different than Kong's.

That's too many.
Actually, while I am a huge Universal fan, I think mixing it up is needed. If FNF is exactly like Kong there is going to be public backlash. Just from my rides on Kong today I heard a number of guests saying things like. "Another movie ride." Or "do they make rides without screens?"
The public is starting to notice. It's only going to get worse if things don't change.

I'm still hoping for a faster vehicle for Furious too.

I don't believe Kong has serious pits but I am not positive. FF in Hollywood has deep deep pits... 7'-12' drop offs. It is an expensive game to dig deep in much of Florida. Transformers amazed me.

Yeah, I'm getting that same vibe based on comments overheard. Like "I'm not waiting 90 minutes for another 3D ride" and an exchange I had with a SeaWorld TM while I was in that park today wearing my Skull Island t-shirt.

They should absolutely go musion on this one. The tech they've been exploring between USH and here shows a lot of promise and they could use it to great effect with what they've already filmed and additional filming as well. I get it. They want to utilize the actors from the film.

But we don't have a studio tour. We don't need to create attractions that suit a huge tram vehicle. Kong is an exception because the expedition type truck vehicle did and does excite me. But to build another one would be truly nonsensical. They are building this new attraction from scratch. They can go in any direction they wish. Why would they clone another tram tour attraction so faithfully? I guess we'll have to wait and see.

i think they could do another 3d ride but they need to make the next obvious step which is mix different elements into each scene. So have the vehicle drive up to a screen then an aa car parks next to your vehicle in between you and the screen with mus ion tech

Yeah that's not good.

Best case scenario is they completely redo this ride to include mostly physical sets... but I doubt that's gonna happen.

I have already told everyone here that isn't the plan. It would be two smaller vehicles running in near tandem. This was the original plan.

I figured I would ask this here to keep the Kong thread on topic. What do you expect the capacity of these to be? If these are supposed to be car like and not bus like I think the maximum per vehicle would be 4-6, 8 tops. Two vehicles in tandem would hold about a dozen people.

My understanding is it will not be car like. It will be vehicles larger than Kong if I remember correctly from a Teebin post.

Yeah, I just posted yesterday that the idea was two smaller vehicles. This may have changed after this debacle with Kong. I have no idea.

Sorry, I got mixed up. I remember the two, but I thought the two together would be bigger than Kong, I must have misunderstood it.

Considering that USH's Supercharged is 3D; it shouldn't be a surprise.

Yeah, as much as I like Kong if this has essentially the same ride system with a bus/tram type set up I can't see it working. The complaints that Kong is getting will be nothing compared to this if they go the same route. I seriously hope they're not too far in to rethink this ride.
