I still don't understand the negativity about this or Fallon or any other attraction not yet built, let alone open.

Just like Kong, this is taking an attraction from Hollywood's tram tour and plussing it beyond recognition. Give it a chance before you write it off.

I think the concern some have is that we, in fact, will recognize it... as Reign of Kong with a Fast & Furious overlay and minus the exterior, huge setpieces, and AAs.

We don't have the full details, of course, but it looks to some of us as if Universal is building another version of the same ride they just opened, and grafting on an IP that would be better-served with a different approach.

Isn't this exactly what happened with Spiderman and Transformers? I know the circumstances were different but the result is the same. Doesn't look like it hurt Transformers.

There is a difference of 14 years between rides opening not just 2 years and only a single ride separating them (Fallon).

Very true. And they swore that Transformers would never be put in UO because it was based on Spiderman. Skipping the details why, they did open it. Guests had no problem with it. I think that maybe Universal saw this and decided they could do it again without major blowback. Maybe they are wrong, but I don't have any issues with it.

A couple of things. Thierry Coup in an interview with Niles on TPI when Singapore Transformers opened ,did indeed say Transformers would not come to Orlando since it was so similar to Spider Man and it would be redundant...But then, a couple of things happened. Transformers did "so well' in increasing attendance at Hollywood, Comcast/Universal wanted a capacity people eater in the park to help distribute the crowds when Diagon would open. , and I believe the rights were expiring at that time, so the decision came down from the" top" to build and open Transformers at breakneck speed. It paid off well, since it increased attendance greatly at Orlando and also helped divert crowd overflow from Diagon once it opened. Correct me if I'm wrong on any of these points, but that's what I was reading over the years about the build.

Sounds about right. I skipped the details to make the comparison short.

I think you left out the most important part...I have no inside knowledge, but the rumor I recall is that HP added too much profit to the resort, some smart person realized that if they spent CAPEX that year, they would save close to what they spent in taxes...so I think they needed something real quick and needed to get in on the books...I have no clue if any of that is true, but it could explain why they went with something they already had designed and had built before as well as explain why they were willing to pay for around the clock construction...but then again, the same would hold true that they needed something side Jaws had closed.

Yeah. I forgot to mention that. Yes, that was bandied about and was probably a major reason.

Transformers is also way better than what we've seen of F&F. Like I said before, I can easily see this ride having the same setup as RoK with the two scenes from Hollywood's F&F replacing the scenes with Kate. Can anyone make a comparison of the whole site of Kong and compare it to the F&F plot?

I find it amazing just how quickly it was built.

I’m not saying guests will have a problem with this. They’ll probably enjoy it. I'm not making the argument that I don't understand Universal's thinking. That doesn’t mean I have to like it, though.

The reason why we don't like it is because we know they can do so much better and it's a let down

I don't even think average guests will like this... F&F in Hollywood has pretty poor guest satisfaction, I feel like this will be the same.

There's always a small tiny hope that it got Kong like changes...

Speaking of Hollywood I think it would be fitting if they made another Kong AA to add to the end of their Kong 360.

Even as it was during the dark years; if they would do that, they would've done it when it originally opened for USH's.

I have to believe that they will go on a similar route of how its done, much like ROK; although I guess we'll see.

Back then they didn't have the perfect AA to clone which i'm starting to think is a clone itself of the Kong that Creature made for the musical but with a different skin on it.

1.) I have to imagine that they destroyed that Creature Puppet as it's really only able to be used for shows, and nothing more.

2.) Improvements to the overall story & Additions that Hollywood doesn't have.
