This would replace the whomping willow scene and would kinda interview with the dementors scene a that also takes place in the chamber of secrets, but I didn't think it out a lot. You would find yourself in the small round tunneled area of the chamber of secrets, when, the car swings to the basilisk slithering through one of the tunnels and you catch a glimpse of its eye. Harry warns you not to look at it in the eye (a medley of "Fawkes is reborn" and "dueling the basilisk" is playing in the background) these are two songs that you can find in the Harry Potter chamber of secrets soundtrack. (Back to topic) after you fly off to get away from the basilisks deadly eyes, you come face to face with it, right in front of if Salazar slitherins statue. The basilisk swings it's head, rotates it's body, moves it's head, and lunges at you, as Harry directs you to the next scene. (Over) this is the idea I had. I think it's pretty good and fits way better than the badly spray painted whomping willow. The basilisk animatronic would look similar, if not identical to the one used in the actual movie which I will also put a picture of

I would like the basilisk to be true to its size ( that's around 60 ft)
