I know quite a bit and this was not anything planned for a Nintendo attraction that I know.

Sounds like one of those things Nintendo would want like the possibility of practical sets. We play their games at home, the theme park experience should be different.

Is this still the status of Dragon Challenge?

  • Could go down in as little as two weeks.
  • No substantiated rumors on what is coming.
  • No permits filed.

That's about it, though even going down is still just rumor stage. We've been doing an awful lot of speculating.

Sure, I probably could have worded it better. But Dragon Challenge is something you find at a Six Flags. I don't believe it is theme park level quality.

It's the queue that set it apart. R.I.P.

Rumors of a closing soon came from multiple reliable sources, but the lack of permits seems to cast some doubt. I wouldn't mind hearing this was pushed back to fast track SLoP.

Yeah, that's what I was saying.Closing is still a rumor, though there are reliable sources, but no official ones.

I only just noticed that the statues in the stores for MSHI are directly from the avengers movie. I thought that was a no no?

I don't claim to know the ins and outs of the contract but I thought Disney got a cut of the merch sales so it was OK to use in the stores

That would make sense. It's just using those "Disney versions" for rides that won't fly then.
It's so convoluted I've just convinced myself that universal can do whatever they want on the east coast as long as it doesn't resemble the Disney marvel characters.

I think they actually can but paying the fees for the actors would add some incredible costs.

Yeah, somewhat jokingly talking to her, like he is in to the parks as much as she is, but in a slightly fake, condescending tone.

Well at least they (she - ITM) mentioned that it was not all wands. I don't think this is Potter but maybe we will see it in the next few years.

My biggest complaint with Dragon Challenge isn't even the queue but the fact that as you are going up the initial lift you can see all the "back stage" stuff. I am all for demoing DC and adding another well-themed dark ride or something that fits with harry potter a little better and also adds to the overall vibe of hogsmeade, but in the very least I would like to see that portion of the ride be fixed. I am not sure how they would go about that. While visiting this weekend I felt that Gringotts was a better ride than FJ (FJ is great, and really encompasses the magic of the series, but the story is all jumbled up and a little weak imo. and while there are some great live sets that are used for the ride, some things like the dementors and some of the 'screenz' sections are a little lacking) and dragon alley as a whole was more immersive and detailed than hogsmeade, but the queue for FJ is so much more detailed than gringotts and hogsmeade in general seems to have a little more "magic" to it for whatever reason. Anybody else feel this way?

I hope they don't take down dragon challenge before October. It's another thing to do I don't mind riding a few times.

Thats how he pretty much always is. I doubt he's being condescending and is more just falling back on normal speech patterns because he doesn't know much about the parks.
