I would think FB will be a third park anchor if the movies do well. Add Ministry of Magic in the mean time and then finally give fans what they want AGAIN with FB over at Park 3.

Of course, this is all if FB is considered a big success or not.

Wouldn't MoM be required to be in the London area, if we're saying FB can't be on Hogsemede

Yup.

I wasn't saying that MoM would go in Hogsmeade, I simply said MoM "in the meantime". Which I don't expect for awhile still if we even end up getting it.

I fully expect what's coming to the DC plot to be Potter. As far as what I was told, the project is moving forward quickly and that DC could close as soon as mid-Sept. This was 3 weeks ago or so. And I still have no idea what it is.

I could see FB taking over Mummy, with a whole different ride system.

Oh, and I do believe that the video game ride patent is for a Nintendo attraction. Just not any of the ones coming to USF.

The original Wizarding World deal was signed before the last book and the last four movies came out. The contract stated that material from all the books had to be incorporated eventually into the area. Also stated the land must be open no later than spring 2010. Rowling and Warner Brothers exerted great influence to make sure that the area reflected the books and movies.

This time the contract likely states that a Fantastic Beasts area must be faithful to the movies. It will also probably dictate a timeline.

It might benefit Universal to wait until after the first movie is out before committing to a Fantastic Beasts area. It might also be in their advantage to wait and put the area in the third park. However I just don't see the contract allowing these things. The terms are likely clearly laid out and Universal have to follow them. This will likely mean sooner rather than later and be like the new movies.

This is the first movie of a new Trilogy. If I were Warner Brothers I would want the announcement to happen before the first movie releases and to try to have the area open by the time the second movie releases.

I'm still holding out for the new Mummy movie to replace Mummy 1.0...Save FB for the third theme park

Did Rowling have any help writing the screenplay? IMDB suggests not. I am concerned that it won't have the clever turns a pro screenwriter would add. Perhaps Yates had some input?

Third park would make sense in putting distance between the two like GB and NY.

I certainly believe it could close soon, again, I think there would have been some type of permit out by now for either demo or renovation because I don't see them closing it without immediately beginning work on it.

1.) For what it is, don't be surprised to see Mummy gutted and it's roof torn down and replaced with a brand new attraction (new roof and upgrades to the buildings current shape).

2.) If Nintendo is coming to Beijing, I can see it either there (as the new hotness of Parks and Resorts) or possibly Japan, but that is my thoughts on if that patent could be used elsewhere..

I don't remember where I read it but I'm pretty sure all I've read has stated she wrote the entire screenplay, that it's actually her screenplay debut.

You know, as much as I understand this fear, after the awful mess that was Cursed Child, I can't help but feel much better about her writing the whole thing. As long as she stays on par with the original novel quality, I'll forgive some of the things that don't work well in a script. I'm really really hoping this makes up for the script.

Here's the difference though, when Fantastic Beasts comes out we'll all be seeing it the way it was intended: as a movie, not just reading the script. I'm sure the same applies to Cursed Child which I have not read so please no spoilers.

All I can say is I'm an actor and I understood that, going into the reading, seeing it would be a very different experience. However, the reason scripts are available for many major shows historically and in modern times is because at heart, the scripts are still the story. And this story is deeply flawed. At it's best, it's a loose interpretation of what might happen after the original stories. At it's worst, it might as well be fanfiction. Poorly written fanfiction at that. I figured it was exaggerated too when I read negative reviews without spoilers. That being said, the characterization is off and without spoiling anything, the plot twist, as well as the plot devices, are so out of line with the original stories that I'm still reeling at the fact that she signed off on them. Also, many lines are very strangely out of character. I understand visuals and actors add a very important, very large dimension to a play. However, none of those things changes the fact that it really just doesn't feel like Harry Potter to me.
Sorry for the rant, it's been bugging me for a bit. I would like to discuss it further with you at some point so go ahead and pm or go to the Cursed Child thread if you want to too...

If this gets replaced it'll be interesting to see what direction they take it in...
