I'd expect some to be underwhelmed when we get the actual announcement but this ride will deliver. Gonna be a ton of fun and thats all that matters.

Never thought we would reach a point where people are disappointed in a new ride cause it will close for inclement weather lol.

People?

It’s one poster. I don’t know why you’re thinking people are going to be underwhelmed here.
Everyone on here seems pretty damned excited for this coaster.

Another reason indoor attractions are superior is the Florida heat and humidity. You can always hit rides with long outdoor queues early in the morning or in the evening, but the heat and humidity get to people eventually, which is probably why half the guests go home before evening.

Do we know how much of the queue will be indoors? A new, popular ride with a long, hot queue could result in a lot of disgruntlement among the guests.

Universal did a great job adding more shaded spaces, an indoor Ollivanders queue, Knockturn Alley, and interactive wand locations involving water misting or jets of water in Diagon Alley, which makes it a far more enjoyable land than Hogsmeade imo. They need to do something similar with this ride in order to balance the two lands out for Potter fans.

An overly long and hot queue or a ride that shuts down every time it sprinkles could affect the enjoyment of and popularity of this ride, so I don't see why climate considerations are any less a legitimate point to discuss than ride mechanics are.

Universal kept the Dragon Challenge ride building. It has a long indoor queue, so keeping cool should not be a problem in line. I hope the AC system is beefed up a little bit. It had to struggle sometimes with large numbers of people.

So, if there are 6 stops or slow-downs on this attraction, does not it imply that there are 6 points of breaks if necessary? My mind is trying to get as many trains on track as possible. :)

6 blocks. They don’t necessarily mean that the train has to stop but they need to be able to in case the train in front valleys for whatever reason. To keep this fluid, it could mean as many as 6 scenes. Do we know if this will be tyre, LIM or LSM powered? Either way, the mechanism that launches the trains can also be reversed to slow the trains down.

Where the launches are, we should expect the necessary evacuation walkways which should be easy to spot once the track is being installed.

There will several slow down areas too, with brakes for evacs I assume. Not sure, but thinking tires for launches. Will get back to you on that.

And there’ll be like 12 or so “scenes” total, but unlike Gringotts, we won’t be stopping for each one.

Thanks, Alicia  The power requirements for this is going to be insane. The Hulk has it's own method of storing energy for it's launch but upon saying that, it's a much heavier train being launched up a hill at a probably higher speed than this coaster ever will.

Do you know what kind of speeds this could reach?

So, it appears that it may be possible for them to have as many as four trains in show and on track at the same time with two more in load/unload. It might just be a crowd muncher.

I wonder how often it would run at full capacity to take advantage of that. Do we know how many people are on each train yet?

Go ride FJ next door and come back in a hour...

If you ask me, Universal as a whole has way too many inside attractions...This is something new, I dig it

So 14 per train, with 2 at load, 2 at unload, are we counting any other train that would be on the track during then? Because just by 4 alone, that means the attraction will have 56 seats in total, and if running altogether, may be bringing capacity to 3,000+ for the attraction.

Should be interesting what happens with Hogsmeade in regards to crowd level. Now that there is a true Potter family coaster it should take away guests from the streets. Hogsmeade should have a bit more walking space when this opens because there won't be as many people waiting for people to get off the ride.

So it’s not a problem that over half the park closes in a thunderstorm. Got it. Tell that to first timers when everything is shut down.

The capacity math is a little more complicated than that - it requires something to account for the ride time or the dispatch interval.

If we make a conservative estimate of 6 trains on track at a time with one dispatching every 30 seconds, the hourly capacity would be 1680 people per hour. This would imply that most of the ride is relatively fast moving - if more of it is slow and there are more blocks then there could be more trains running at once and a longer ride time.

Then, if it's fair to ask, would a moving load platform help ease the situation of slower loading times?

Considering the entire park closes at Busch Gardens when there's a thunderstorm...no...it's not a big deal

It could. The two things which affect capacity most directly are the number of riders per train and the amount of time between when one train dispatches and when the following train dispatches. So if a moving load allows for a decrease in the time between dispatches by having multiple trains loading at once and not taking the time to stop, then the overall capacity of the ride will increase.

The caveat is that there has to be somewhere for the trains to go after dispatch - it does no good to load trains faster if the following section of track will still be occupied by the preceding train when you are ready to dispatch them.

The first (complete) stop on the ride won’t be until the 3rd or 4th scene, so trains shouldn’t have to wait for trains at first scene to move before dispatching. I do not expect the first stop to be very long (or any of the stops for that matter.)

Here I am just wondering what Uniforms team members might have for this? I'm not the biggest Harry Potter fan, so I know very little but I love all of the Uniforms I've seen so far in all the attractions. In my honest opinion, the Uniforms of the team membors and attraction attendants +'s the experience!
