The Koolfog will likely be at the entrance to the cave and the final show building as well, to mask the transition of entering/exiting. I think it will be similar to the mist in the Hulk tunnel that goes under the pathway. (And yes that bothers me too with glasses, but luckily we're speeding by quickly, plus it's a fine mist so doesn't leave big blotches on my glasses the way the indoor ride effect sprays do.)

So enter and exit....hmmmmmm so there IS a Launch

Here’s some pics I got of the construction on Sunday, possibly going back this weekend to check up on it again

It's going to be really fascinating to see what type of vegetation they end up bringing in to dense up this 'forest'. Especially with the height the coaster looks to be going.

It's also just so exciting to have this outdoor progress to monitor, nothing worse than watching a show building progress into a warehouse...

Also, with this level of progress I'm surprised we haven't seen any type of concept art.?

We didn't see Kong's concept art until they sculpted a big Kong head out front. Heck, we didn't get an official announcement that it even was Kong until after they swapped out the work walls for ones with literal skulls on it, and that was within months of it opening!

Love how they told the TMs to act like Kong wasn't even there. You ask what is that going to be and were met with a blank stare and a puzzled "what" just glossing over what was plain to see.

Longtime lurker here, figured I'd throw in my two cents.

I've seen some speculation in regards to ride intensity and comparisons to Wavebreaker or Thirteen based on what little track we've seen and the style of supports.

From what I can tell from the aerials and the most recent pics, this ride is going to be fast enough to necessitate Intamin's heavier track style.
The supports with the rectangle track mounting points are for the flat style track(like Thirteen) that can be seen in the building and from the pics of some on a trailer being hauled in.
However anywhere you see supports with the round track mounting points, it's likely to be Intamin's triangle shaped(medium strength?)track.

Just something that I noticed. Fingers crossed that we're getting a lite version of Taron.

If the ride does indeed have 14 riders per train as previously stated in this thread I believe, it rules out the possibility of a blitz like Taron or Cheetah Hunt as those trains have 2 rows of 2 riders per car, so 14 riders would not be acheivable. I’m leaning more toward something more like Thirteen than Wavebreaker as some of the elements (90° turn, spike, drop track) seem like they could be a bit uncomfortable with the motorbike seating position. Another point that could mean that this is possibly something new is that Intamin has never used anything but the flat track on multi-dimensional coaster (Thirteen) or motorbikes. At this point I’m quite unsure as to what the seating will be like, so we’ll just have to wait and see.

I agree. Not quite a Blitz coaster.
I'm not a Harry Potter fan by any means, but I'm pretty dingdang excited by what I've seen so far.

Props to Gabe, for presumably standing on that planter by the Hogwarts Express that I was too scared to stand on the other day.
Maybe next time.

Nah, in the Hogwarts Express queue there’s a spot where you can see right over the work walls and into the construction site ;)

Good eye! You are not wrong. (My comparisons to Cheetah Hunt are probably closer to what we’re getting than people may have realized!)

And thanks for coming out of the shadows! Please post more and welcome!

Intamin has offered two rider cars before when theming is used, see the original Top Thrill Dragster trains.

Where wave breaker works.. The slalom towards the end. Where it fails.. The tire launches. It could just be due to what sea world wanted or could afford but the launches are not very forceful. And perhaps force is not what universal wants, maybe it's just supposed to be a nice steady speed which is fine.

I would think this is pretty low thrill, but that spike is steep and if there's a drop track then that's a pretty moderate-thrill element so I would think they want a bit more of a jolt out of the launches.

Also can attest that the wave breaker seating style is awkward as hell and should not be replicated lol.

Agreed. And I think two of the launches will be packing quite a punch.

Intamin usually uses tire launches for their smaller, less intense coasters. I'm not too sure about cost, but I'd assume that it's not worth it to have LSMs for small launches that aren't very fast.

They have done it, but not on the LSM blitz model.

Well let's not forget who else uses tire launches in IOA, And I dare you to say to him what you said here about tire launches.

Hulk is definitely an exception. Drive tires are usually very inefficient for large scale launches when compared to other systems. However, with the situation that B&M was in, I think it was possibly the best choice that they had.
