Some respectable times today. Did Weekend, Killer Klowns and Universal Monsters in 30 min at 6. Terror tram was a walk on at 7:15. Scarecrow seems to be backed up with express. Time is 45 min. Waiting…..

15 min all express no standby. They need to learn how to manage the line.

For those who suggest Universal Monsters first and then hitting Curious George... at what point should one return to the lower lot? Before or after doing Upper Lot mazes? (This is for Friday/Saturday, btw, as usual rules don't apply on weekdays lol)

I'm in the express line for Scarecrow right now and the express line is huge. Same with Halloween. I think RIP has become the next tier of express as you can use the RIP line without a tour guide. Glad I've got RIP tomorrow.

Thise 2 stand by lines are soul crushing. Scarecrow was so short but never moved. Just a flow of express and RIP. Halloween was wirse went in the basement of cilirius George hell with a time of 45 min and hit the house 80 min in. The oversell of express is a real problem. Early entry saved me but I have never seen the level of express lines. My new gameplan is just hit a few houses early and call it a night.

I walked down to Curious George right at 7, and walked into Scarecrow with no wait. Then hopped over to Halloween and waited less than 10 minutes.

This was after I finished Weeknd and Legends Collide. I didn't have an Express pass. All of those waits obviously ballooned later on, so I can't stress enough the importance of Entry Entry

I didn't hit Curious George mazes until 10pm, they were crazy by then, even gor Express. Definitely hitting them earlier is a good idea.

Got RIP tonight, so I'll be taking full advantage when I'm done withe the tour.

This goes for yesterday, so your mileage may vary with it, but I was late to park and got in line to enter at about 4:50, gates opened around 5:26, I hung back on the lower lot and lined up for Legends Collide, since not many people were at the time, managed to get that done right when it opened around 6:20 (Word of warning, a ton of scares were missing and I had a much much better run later in the night when it was dark).
Headed straight to the upper lot, Curious George opened roughly 6:45, was among the first into Halloween a little after 7, and went right into scarecrow with no wait, hit Hotel, then La Llorona (point of note is even when La Llorona is listed at a 30 minute wait time or more, so long as the end of the line is visibly still on the street of Pets Place and not stretched into Despicable Me, your wait is likely lower than listed), then Blumhouse and tram.
This was where the major halt in this plan comes in. It was still relatively early, I think around 9:30, and Weeknd and Klowns were both hovering around hour waits each, so how you'd choose to spend this time would probably have to be up to you, I mostly just meandered and sat around Pueblo del Terror, the Haunted Forest, and the Death Eater alley, just to kill time. I did eventually just say screw it and waited like 45 minutes for Weeknd, but didn't end up doing Klowns at all since I wasn't feeling well and had to call it a night.

Overall, it's not a terrible plan, but it does come with the massive caveat that in the end youll inevitably either need to just bunker down and wait through the klowns and weeknd lines, or you have to stay till very very closing, since I didn't see waits for Klowns or Weeknd drop until maybe 1:30 am last night.

I found the trend of Klowns getting longer waits than Weeknd very interesting.

Clownsawz, Killer Klowns, Killer Klowns BBQ, Killer Klowns Ice Cream, and Hollywood Harry.
One could say Clowns are the overall theme for the event.

Against my better judgment I am in line for the Weenend. Normally don’t do Saturday’s. Probably be a short visit. Not going on ti wait for Halloween for 80 min.

How’d your night turn out? Did it seem like they oversold express again?

Tbh overselling tickets in general may be a better description. Almost everything was an hour wait and up for a vast majority of the night, and as far as I'm aware it wasn't even a sold out night.

That said, express is probably a big part of that. I was near the front of the pack for Weeknd, and still waited around 35 minutes because of how they handled express. It seems like they basically told the ops to do their best to keep the express line completely empty at all times, even if it's at the expense of the standby queue. I saw multiple occassions where they would just flush out the entire express line for weeknd, then pause for like a full minute, new express people would come in, rinse and repeat. They only really let the standby move when there was absolutely no express for like a good minute and a half, and even then once new ones showed up they'd cut off standby pretty promptly. Not sure if that continued later in the night, but it definitely seemed like they were doing it with Blumhouse later when I went.

I really wish Hollywood would take orlando's approach to express where there's a merge point between the two lines, so once youre past that point, express or not, youre basically guaranteed a clean flow to get into the house without major stalls. Not really sure why they go with the "express must be a front of the line walk on at all times" strat on this coast. Maybe LA crowds just aren't patient enough to wait the extra 4 minutes to get in after the merge point? It's odd.

I got in line for the weekend at 4:45 and was 20 deep. Was out by 6:15 and made my way to Monsters. Was about a 30 min wait by that time. Skipped Klowns because it was already 60 min. Went to Terror tram - a walk on - and then did La Llorona with a 40 min wait. Everything was packed at that point so I called it a night. It seemed super busy and I left by 8:00PM.

From what I've seen the Terror Tram is usually one of the shortest waits throughout the night. They are running trams regularly. I would recommend waiting to do it until after you've hit both Curious George houses, which are always shortest right when they open at 7.

Last night, with my FFP, I took a different approach... I skipped Early Entry altogether and arrived at 11pm with the intention to close out the park. Not sure if it really helped much in terms of line management... all the lines were still pretty long--it was a very busy night. Tram was posted at 80 minutes (it was 120 at about 10pm--we checked the app before we drove over). Waited about 30.

Exited the tram about just before midnight. La Llorna was posted at 120 min (and looked it... it appeared they completely filled up the Minions queue), so we skipped that. Hotel was posted at 70, and while the line itself wasn't really that long (it went behind Pets, but didn't weave at all), it turned out to be the longest wait of the night at about 45 mostly because it moved somewhat slowly. After that we went to the lower lot. By 1am, Legends was posted as 35, but it was really 10 minutes. By the time we got out, the line for Legends was posted as 15, and since we had a good run in there, we decided to do it again... and it turned out to be a total walk on, no wait at all! By then, it was about 1:40, and we decided to end with Weeknd, which was posted at 60 min, but ended up being a fast moving 20 min.

At the end of the night, we didn't really get any more mazes done than we would have using Early Entry, but there were a few interesting take aways... after 1am, basically no one uses Express anymore, so the stand by line just flies with continuous movement forward. We also noticed more lighting effects that we don't get to see during Early Entry, likely because of light bleed. Also had lots of new scare locations and scare actors in positions we had never seen used before during all of our Early Entry experiences, so the mazes felt more fresh and lively. Plus, by later in the evening, the scareactors seemed to have found their groove a bit better, and seemed to be more on point.
