Because Lower Lot is a dead end and people feel they need to spend more time down there.
Think back to when Early Entry was the actual backlot. People came and left. That's what I'm saying will happen with Curious George. Lower Lot, there's nowhere else to go, so it balloons up everything. Disperse the people and have them trickle in, it creates less of a bottleneck.
If you start people an hour and a half early on the lower lot, and if 50% of guests are going to lower lot because there's already lines, ofcourse it's going to cause problems.
But reroute people and start them elsewhere, lower lot is freed up for at least 7-8pm like it used to be. People will see the long lines of Chucky and Unmasked and gravitate that way to get it over with. Some people will see the low lines of Evil Dead and Monstrous and go that way. A huge percentage will go to the lower lot because they're fans and know the drill.
But if you just SHOVE everyone down there to begin with, where everyone wants to start anyway, then yes, it will be crowded. This way forces everyone to start somewhere else first.
Lower Lot was always an issue from 8pm-10pm, but for it to be an issue starting at 7pm is a cause of the system as a whole, not of the people. Although I do agree there are way too many people this year, there are ways to alleviate the issue by creating a new crowd flow.
