Went on opening night! Here’s my full-rundown of my event. Will be reviewing everything in order of accomplishment. This will be a fairly spoiler-free review. I will not mention scenes that won’t be obvious.

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Not a crazy huge FNAF fan, but this was still my most-anticipated of the event. Aside from the very obvious blunder at the beginning where it’s just Freddy performing, I thought the rest of the house was great. I was pleasantly surprised with how little they relied on the ghost kids and the few times they did, it worked great! Also zero black walls…which is very refreshing for an HHN Hollywood house. I enjoyed it!

Grade: B+

Terrifier: There was a crazy amount of hype for this house. Thankfully I managed to get in before the entire crowd mobbed the house, because i would’ve been pissed waiting four hours for that stupid house. Anyway I did it and unfortunately, I just wasn’t feeling it. Maybe I just a bad run through but I felt very underwhelmed with this house. The experience felt kinda passive. It also didn’t feel like a Terrifier house and more like a random house at HHN with Art thrown in there. IDK maybe I’ll get a better run through but I wasn’t feeling it. For now, it’s overrated and overhyped. It doesn’t help anything that I watched Orlando’s pov and that looked fantastic!

Overall: C

Poltergeist: Liked the house back in 2018, even despite the black walls….but man this really sticks out against the rest of the lineup. House was rough, but the ending was still great. Other than that….this house was really outdated. Meh. I’d rather skip it but I know I can’t because the line for this house will generally be short lol

Overall: D

Terror Tram: Enter the Blumhouse: This is absolutely one of the better Terror Trams. It’s up there with the 2016 one. I hope they stick with this formula moving forward by having this more of an “outdoor house” or “mini houses” along the path because it was very effective! I actually got a couple of jumps here! Well done Murdy!

Overall: B-

Fallout: Okay this one was awesome! Might be my favorite house in the Hudson Gate building. This felt like a true Orlando sound stage house. Vault 33 was VERY realistic and insanely detailed. Surprisingly intense. What really made the house for me was….that room. I don’t want to spoil it for those who have yet to go through it but it created a huge “Wow!” moment from me. Very impressive, but VERY short. I’m willing to forgive the brief black wall transitions because one, they were very brief, and two, the rooms were amazing enough to where I didn’t care lol. Easily my second favorite of the event.

Overall: A

WWE: Horrors of Wyatt Sicks: I’m not a wrestling guy, but this was really good! I didn’t get an amazing run through but I got some good jumps! This was also a nice-looking house. I’ll be hitting this one up more often. Solid house.

Overall: B+

Scarecrow: Music by Slash: Despite this being the second repeat of the event, it’s a good one! The original scarecrow was one of my all-time favorite houses ever, so it’s not terrible they brought this back. Although I will always prefer the original version, I had a good time with this one! The music was fine. Again, I still think part of what made the original great was the minimalistic soundtrack.

Overall: B

Chainsaw Man: The Chaos: Don’t care much for the anime but this was the better of the shows in the HHN DWT overlays. I was pleasantly surprised with how they utilized the side walls for this show. It’s not much but it’s a good way to rest your feet for 10/15 minutes. Check it out.

Overall: B

*Skipped the Purge Dangerous Waters as I assume it will be the same show and I wanted to prioritize all the houses. Maybe another time.*

Monstrous 3: Ghosts of Latin America: I’ve always enjoyed the Monstrous entries, but I think this one is my least favorite. It also didn’t help that I got a “meh” run through. It’s mainly my least favorite as it was essentially La Llorona 4.0, which was what I was afraid it would be. If they’re gonna do it, I really wish we would get an alternate vantage point of the river scene where we are under water and see the kids above us face-down. That would be awesome but I understand this was more of a budgetary decision. Oh well. It’s fine.

Overall: B-

Jason Universe: Saved the best for last. I got an AMAZING run through of this house. Man this house was intense! This felt like a glorious comeback to the HHN of old: Gritty, scary, gruesome kills, and in-your-face. There was one scene that seemed to be missing scareactors, but eh the house was great! Easily my number one

Overall: A+

Scarezones are fine. Would be nice if they changed up something besides Crowz. Liked the Hillibilly zone.

Although this year does have a few flaws (Poltergeist, Terrifier being a little overhyped, and the first scene at FNAF), this is overall a very, and I mean VERY solid year. Not sure if I prefer it over 2016, but it’s absolutely up there with 2023. This year is in my top 5 at least. I’m not sure when I’ll be back (Maybe Sunday?) but I REALLY enjoyed this year! I’ll be back multiple times for sure!

I went today.

My ranking list (in order)

Jason Universe
Terrifier
Scarecrow
Blumtram
FNAF
Monstrous 3
Fallout
The Horrors of the Wyatt Sicks
Poltergeist

I don’t think any of the houses are scary but I had alot of fun! My family and I bought general admission w/ EE but since of my family members had a disability card, we moved through Express for every house and the Blumtram. We started at 5:30 pm and ended at 8 pm which included the scaremony. We repeated several house and the Blumtram.

Jason Universe may be the best house of the year from any event that occurs in 2025.
Art is cemented as an icon and is immortalized after his introduction to HHN.

Opening Night of HHN 2025 Complete and man is this one if HHN's best years! Don't think it tops 2016 from a design and line-up standpoint but definitely a personal experience one (thats a story for another day tho lol)

Inital Rankings for the houses & Tram, all range from solid to HELL YEA!!!

9. Poltergiest - Solid house, was the first house I worked on with lights, so have some attachment to it. Had a good run, the actors are whats making this house for me but otherwise it really shows its age against the rest of this line-up. The long-blackhallway is shortened by a bit and the clown is fun. But otherwise its alright.

8. Terror Tram: Enter the Blumhouse 15 Years - Did not expext this to be as good ad it was! Its a much improved version of last years, it felt more like an outdoor house than a gaint scarezone if that makes any sense lol. Grabber with Heely's is peak, The Insidious section works along with the Exorcist Believer portion, much better than last years Freaky/HDD and Black Phone, Purge is about the same probably the weakest part, but the finale felt like what every Blumhouse of Horrors should of ended like with final scares from each of the franchises! A top Terror Tram for Sure!!

7. Five Nights at Freddy's - Alright, lets get Scene One out of the way. Yes, its pretty dissapointing we ONLY get Freddy, having all 3 would have been one of the most IMPRESSIVE scenes they would of ever done, but idk Freddy was still cool. If they removed those curtains, they could sell the idea of Chica and Bonnie having already left to stalk you thru the Pizzeria, that would of worked better imo. But other than that this house is still very inpressive! Not scary in the slightest, glad those kid scares are masked ngl than make-up but they are still pretty tame, short ppl only scare me so much already being a short person. The animatronics and sets tho are impressive, while limited in there movements still gald they are puppeted and the sets you can tell where designed by Orlando while still feeling built like from Hollywood, maybe its the lighting cuz judging by the videos, Orlando really loves their Red while we go for more subdued colors.

6. Fallout - As someone who knows Jack-shi about Fallout, I was suprised by this one! Its relatively short and some empty openess to some of the rooms, but dam are thoae rooms huge! Well desgined scares, great lighting and that BEAR! Holy cow did I not expect it to be THAT huge, no video is ever gonna do it justice. Can say I was suprised and it exceeded my expectations

5. Terrifier - This is a fun funhouse! Sets are simple but like Chucky they work well for Arts antics, tho unlike Chucky is not as Chaotic as it coulda been and not as Gorey, its standard for what HHN has done before. Same with smell tho I think WWE has a more noticable and innate smells, and the water effects are standard at best tho I was dodging all of them all letting the ladies behind me getting hit, they were screaming lol. Art himself tho is fantastic, hes already a great character than he is able to play up the house and if you interact with his antics its an even better experience. Do the mask detract? Imo not really but I could see it for some even tho I did not expect them to make-up 20+ Art actors just for this house. That's what the outside ones are for tho I gues that makes expectations for the ones inside. Still tho I had fun with it.

4. Monstruos Tres: The Ghost of Latin America - What a way to end of the trilogy, sad Monstruos is ending but this is a perfect send off and at the right time. Half of the house being La Llorona isn't as bad as it could of been, she has some great scares and the puppets are horrific as always. La Muelona's sections is short but a rapid bash of attacks along with El Siguanada who is already a better section than Cadejo for just being able to provide more movement than a puppet can. Muerte is iconics its gonna be hard to say good bye to the character. The final works for the "Are you afraid of the dark" and I wish the other 2 Monstruos had a similar finale where all 3 at the end attack, love this Monstruos finale!

3. WWE Presents: The Horrors of the Wyatt Sicks - another were I knew nothin but after som research because of intrigue and I'm glad this house is as good as it is. Its a welcoming love letter and respects thr Legacy of Bray Wyatt as a creative person. This falls more into the mystical and trippy landscape then one would expect. That first blackwall section actually works because ofnhow it uses the fireflies and uncle Howdy at the end of the hallway. And these actors are big and AGRESSIVE, as if they were Wrestlers lol! WWE fans (expect maybe one lol) are EATING.

2. Jason Universe - One complaint, its short. Other than that MAN is this a fun and great Slasher house! Like a Micheal or a Leatherface, this is a slasher showing of what it means to be a slasher, having fun kills while also still having good scare oppurtunities. The sets are simple in the forest and interior scenes but Jason doesn't need extravengance! He works well when in close and dark enviorments! Audio is also very good, was watching Friday the 13th part 2 recently and I forgot how campy it sounds but its translated very well here. The influencer parts are small but if you notice them its a fun addition.

1. Scarecrow: Music by SLASH - Repeat this... repeat that... I DON'T CARE, SCARECROW ROCKS! It was amazing in 2022 and it was better here in 2025, I don't know why I doubt it lol. It is missing the bird's pooping, not too big of a deal but that scene does feel a bit redundant, but otherwise its the same! The scareactors here are agressive, and the sets with the lighting feel dark and grim! Love the variety in scarecrow looks and KING CROW is King! And now for the big change being the audio with the introduction of the Slash score. Idk about ya'll but i f×+k with it HARD. Its got this great industrial and Sinners (AlexBushtm) feel with some sick ass guitar riffs! Lyrics too that feel in vain of the themes Scarecrow represents. The song will definitely sway ppl personal preferance on this years or 2022's iteration, but even without it Scarecrow is still scarecrowing, that is to say it still a top HHN quality house!
