In regards to a previous post about WB IPs, I think it is being underestimated about the business between Six Flags and WB.

WB doesn’t exclusively work with six flags. WB works with whoever pays them more

Terrifer may have been mainstream now, but it's very unlikely it will appear next year given that Universal already has most of the rumored popular IPs lined up, such as M3GAN, the original Orlando house, F13th, and several others.

That's like what this thread is: rumors and speculations. I may be right or wrong, but the rumored lineup for HHN 2025 doesn't indicate that Terrifer might show up next year.

I would love Nosferatu. Murdy is a huge fan of the Vampire, and A24 is trying to hit the mainstream. That said…. Eggers man. He seems tough and very protective of his ideas.

What rumored lineup? I wasn't aware we'd collectively decided one or that it's already floating around in the halls of management. Show your work.

I'm just saying rumors based on the likely lines ups and what others here are saying. I didn't say they were confirmed or anything like that. I don't think it's controversial to say that Terrifer might not appear next year.

You're walking back what you said.

I may be right or wrong, but the rumored lineup for HHN 2025 doesn't indicate that Terrifer might show up next year.

This suggests you believe there is a rumored lineup of some kind that has some level of weight or that we know with confidence that Universal has locked some IPs. The truth is there isn't, really, at this stage. (The people who really know something at this point aren't saying.)

Most of us are making educated guesses based on what's current, event precedent, and other known factors (like who owns what). Terrifier is literally being discussed as something that is very current and potentially available. Before, I've dismissed this IP, but it's clear it's broken into the mainstream, so I wouldn't be surprised if someone (whether it's Universal or Six Flags or someone else entirely) goes for it.

All this to say: If you're going to make a bold, definitive claim, such as "Terrifier isn't part of the rumored lineup," you need to show your work.

I don't deny that Universal or any other company might go for Terrifer, but I just don't think Terrifer will appear next year (and several others here opinioned too), any more than saying Scream might not appear for HHN 2025 or any time in the future due to the complexity of the rights involved.

I should post my actual initial suspected lineup:

- The Last of Us
- Latin American Original (Dolls? Duendes?)
- Blumhouse… either Solo or Compilation (M3GAN, Black Phone, etc.)
- Original House (Orlando Transfer please)
- Horror Icon (Ideally Kreuger, seems like it might be Vorhees)
- Modern IP (I think Smile might be a good candidate…)
- Universal Classic IP (outside of the Universal Monsters, maybe even Chucky again)
- Scare Zone turned Original

And it's totally okay to express that opinion and prediction. The issue here was you kept dismissing the possibility by referencing some kind of rumored lineup that doesn't currently exist in any meaningful form. By all means, make your case, but try to provide compelling arguments -- it's what makes speculation at this stage productive. Your referencing the rights issues with Scream is a good example. In this other case, I'd say it's fair to acknowledge that Terrifier may be considered too extreme or that the IP holders won't want to water down the gore to a level that Universal can stomach.

Yes, and I apologize for that. I only meant to express opinions and predictions about what might occur in 2025, not what was actually going to happen in 2025 (which I've done unintentionally). As for Terrifer, yes, I have to agree with you there, but the gore will probably stay the same as before since we're all used to it.

Would Beetlejuice count as a classic IP? I know it’s not technically Universal but the IP has long standing history with Universal

maybe it could be a zone after parisian house where it could be all the Latin America legends in one zone
charro and cucuy. to end off the trilogy.

They essentially did this concept back in 2022 with El Pueblo Del Terror.

Alright, it's officially speculation season! I finally have time to throw my hat into the ring! I know we're three pages in, but I want to get my thoughts in! So I'll get right to it.

Another Hispanic urban legends house is almost a guarantee at this pount. They're not gonna retire the Dia de los Muertos theme for the plaza as they can easily reuse all of it and it makes them some good money. Plus, Murdy said it will be for Hispanic legends for the time being. He even asked for other legends he hasn't heard about yet! So that's set. I do hope this is the last year they do it though as I want to see something new after this coming year for the plaza like a carnival year or something. But anyway, I really think they will close out the trilogy with a Monstrous 3. Seems to me the most obvious choice. If they decide not to go that route and go with a standalone urban legend, then surely they gotta go with Chupacabra this time!

I'm not really sure if we'll see another Universal Monsters house again. I think since they're opening EU in Florida next year, they may not feel the need to share a the UM IP for HHN next year as they will have a literal theme park land devoted to it! I think they will either take a break from the Universal Monsters lore next year OR they can take a different approach to the Universal Monsters. They can do a mashup house that expands the definition of the Universal Monsters. In other words, it wouldn't be a house limited to the classics we all know, it would expand to include the Creature, Jaws, and maybe the Thing. They can do a "creature" themed Universal house or do a 50's sci-fi theme to include the Creature and other B-movie sci-fi aliens from that era under the Universal catalogue. Although I think it would be a creative way of keeping the Monsters, I think they will likely just take a break from it.

I really, really want to see Freddy and Jason back with their standalone houses next year. I just don't see it, personally. I do see Terrifier happening to fulfill that slasher quota for next year.

It is also a possibility with them coming out with that HBO MAX show. I think it's possible.

TLOU is something I could see come back.

I think we will see a return of an older house that's been done a while back. I think the two prime candidates for that are Silent HIll (Which Murdy has expressed interest in doing again) or AWIL. I'm not big on repeats, but AWiL is the one house I would not mind at all being repeated. It's been a decade since they've done it and I would love to see them try it again with a proper budget and a bigger venue (Like a sound stage or TWDA). Either one of these two would also satisfy the quota of being the Hollywood-exclusive IP.

In terms of a classic being brought, I think the Lost Boys would be a great candidate for this.

Just like Chucky and Quiet Place, I think we will see an AA-heavy house next year and I think it will be FNAF.

Horrors of Blumhouse 4 also sounds like a good possibility.

As for Scream....nah. Not gonna happen this year either. Don't think Gremlins will happen either as they're kinda rebranding it to a more kid-friendly IP.

Now for operations: Metro sets won't return. No way. I know it's in talks here because of Fan Fest Nights using Courthouse Square, but with how this year was nowhere near as popular as last year, they really don't need to.

I do think we will see the Voice sound stage return as a venue. Though I do think its days are numbered as I noticed the catwalks above are missing.

Since I've noticed a good chunk of folks mentioning Silent Hill, there is some food for thought especially with Murdy expressing interest in doing it again. Since over on Orlando's side, Aiello is returning...and he has openly stated a while back that Silent Hill is a property he would love to do again since he felt they didn't quite get it right the first time.

There's most likely a whole bunch of factors on what decides which IP's are picked, but when the directors of both coasts express interest on returning to a particular IP, that sure as heck doesn't hurt its chances. A bit of interest and passion for an IP/theme can go a long way.

Do you guys they'll ever do more than one video game IP in a single year? It would be really cool to have Silent Hill and TLoU in the same year
