but i'll certainly eat crow if the theme blows me away i'm not just a complainer I really want to like the event every year but sometimes I just can't esp when you're spending your money to go to a special event like this you expect it to blow your mind with original stuff...

When the main icon loses all of his scare-factor because he is a photo-op and no longer scares than I have an issue. If done right it can be effective, i.e. 2006 with The Arrival and Horrorwood in 2009.

Exactly. The Usher was utilized perfectly with Horrorwood and the photo-op outside the archway. Fear Revealed was a dull photo-op and Your Luck Has Run Out was a mess. We shouldn't have to sacrifice scares for photo-ops. When done properly, they can both co-exist and A&D has proved that in the past.

Idk about you guys but I'm so tired of zombies at this point. Almost every hhn has used them either in a house or a scarezone and now it's looking like they're the theme this year. Definitely disappointed. I know it's difficult to be original every year but the last few events have been let but i'll certainly eat crow if the theme blows me away i'm not just a complainer I really want to like the event every year but sometimes I just can't esp when you're spending your money to go to a special event like this you expect it to blow your mind with original stuff...

I understand what you're talking about to an extent, but come on. You have to admit that last year was an amazing year technology-wise and originality-wise. Literally, some of the best houses I've been through in the past 9 years. To be honest, I can see where you could've been let down with HHN over the last couple of years, but 21 was the most original year they've had since 2008. To me would've been perfect if Lady Luck was utilized more, and if Your Luck Has Run Out being a total trainwreck. Plus, it was a test year for new technology to be used in the future. I didn't go through one house I didn't like. With that attitude in my mind, I'm confident Animation and Design will blow us away again this year. Zombies or not.

TWD isn't the theme. It will be the focus of the marketing, but isn't the focus of the event.

I know what the survey said. But if TWD was the theme, everything would be playing off of it, which isn't the case.

It's the Marketing Theme, but Marketing Themes and Event Themes have become very different things. Sometimes they're synced and sometimes they are not.

New clue from the Facebook Page:

What have we done? Something horrible was in the ground and we’ve dug it up. These “creatures” will soon be walking the streets of Universal Studios Florida at night, ready to feast on HHN guests who will have no place to hide…

I think that's just a creature that will roam the streets, not the icon.
