I sure as hell hope not, this years marketing has been pathedic from a HHNs standpoint.

The survey they released really makes me wonder if they plan on going back to the type of marketing formula they had used for almost 10 years.

There's still gonna be games this year, apparently. Patience.

I'm excited about the event, but I'm really losing hope on the website. We typically know all houses by now and are getting scarezone info. I feel bitter-sweet about knowing all of it...but through leaks.

Exactly. I'm all for getting games later and whatnot, but it still doesn't help the fact that we've had almost no hype/announcements since the 3rd of the month. Since then, we've just been handing the lame, generic descriptions and promises of another update. Due to their odd marketing, there is very little left to surprise anyone and I can definitely say that it kills quite a bit of the usual excitement surrounding the event.

Anyway, back to speculating, from Mike Aiello's twitter:

I'll tell you something, there is nothing worse then working all day coming home and playing with your kids knowing you gotta work later.

Maybe, or just crunch time since we're a month away.

I'll be honest...I dunno how much time he's been dealing with HHN. Seems like he has bigger fish to fry.

I'm under the impression that he has a bigger position than HHN now, but I could be mistaken.

I think he's in intermediary position. He definitely still does HHN work, but he also is doing a lot more other show work at the parks.

Just because marketing is lack-luster doesn't mean the event will be and vise versa..two different monsters entirely (excuse the pun)...honestly though I am still getting a strange feeling from this year and not a good one..

I hope that this year does not mark the beginning of a new HHN era, and the end of what was the best Halloween event I've been to. I've been going every year since 97 and this is the first year that I'm really not excited about the event at all. I hope it turns out to be amazing and I'm just being unnecessarily skeptical....

Yeah ever since he did the Cinematic Spectacular. Pretty sure Patrick's been doing most stuff on HHN this year.

I know this is easier said than done for some of you out-of-towners, but get there the second week of HHN. Lines will be practically non-existent comparably and the scareactors will have by then grown accustom to their roles and perform more effectively. That's the safest bet for getting the most of your experience, even with the Jaws queue gone.

I'm there the same time as last year (Columbus Day weekend) and last year crowds were really manageable.

It's not really until the two weeks before Halloween that the crowds get ridiculous. But the longer you wait, the more scareactors fizzle out. By the final weekend about a third to a half of each house is vacant. You picked a good time. Maybe I'll see you there even.

The one Columbus Day Weekend I went to was a little crazy. Granted this was 2010 and Harry Potter had just opened but still had to get express for HHN. The year before (09) we went the weekend before Columbus Day and it was soooo slllllooooow. Doing that weekend again this year. Scarletwebslingr is right on the second weekend being awesome for the event. Everyone and everything seems to have most of the kinks out. Add the short lines and you have a great experience.
