Has it been confirmed how many IP houses there are this year? I thought it was still all speculation (apologize if this has already been posted, don't recall seeing it).

There has been zero confirmation of anything, but speculation says 4 or 5 IPs.
The most heavily speculated IPs are: Poltergeist, Ghostbusters, Alien, American Horror Story, The Walking Dead (which is looking less likely), Trick R Treat, The Purge or You're Next, a videogame IP, and Insidious.
The rumored non-IP houses are: an original dark comedy house, Nightingale's 2, and Urban Legends 2.

I'd say AHS and insidious are all but confirmed at this point, theyve been talked about since 23 was over. Also nightingales 2 is pretty official too, there was something on the website (I might be wrong) with a nightingale bird on it so there is your hint. Purge will probably be a scare zone or drill team

I don't think they have a excuse not to use it now that walking dead is dead. I'm really hopeful about the AHS maze, I'm a big fan of the show and I'd personally like to see all 3 seasons used in one house even though that could equal to 2 scenes a season. What I don't want is it to become a returning house theme that just won't buggar off

My guess is if they end up doing AHS (which I have heard rumblings might not be coming) it will be one season. My money is on season three as HOS had a very successful voodoo house last year and HHN has wanted to do a voodoo house for a few years.
The other advantage to focusing on one season is that they can have it return and be COMPLETELY DIFFERENT (give TWD a glare). To me, that is a huge selling point and would make it worth landing this IP. With a compilation house they would have less material to work with in the following year(s) that they use the AHS IP.

I don't think so, I personally hate when they do that because it always comes out late October so the house doesn't make any sense whatsoever until I watch the movie on October 23rd or something, stupid thing prequel

I hope it isn't either but tons of signs have been leading to it so I have no idea. So far I think AHS and insidious are the only ones completely confirmed. Also sadly talk of walking dead is back....ughhh

Last I heard, AHS was NOT confirmed and looking less likely...
Also, I have heard ZERO about a Walking Dead return.

I've heard from many sites AHS will come, guess we will have to see. Also don't get me wrong, nothing is confirmed just really hinted at. You are probably right walking dead won't return but some hint came out about dead and orchestras and we all turned our heads to AMC

I feel like this year has been a scattershot as things that were 'confirmed' seem to keep falling through. At this point, it is hard to know what to believe, but I do have a few sources that have been saying the AHS rumors are looking less likely, but are not impossible. One even went so far as to say that the reason we did not get AHS last year was that FX was proving hard to work with (as in, dictating what scenes HAD to be in the house) so I could see it not happening again this year. Once again, this is assuming that what the sources have heard is correct.
Interesting, I must have missed that TWD hint.
Based on all this TV spec, the latest show I have heard thrown into the mix is 'Sleepy Hollow' but all sources seem reluctant to confirm ANYTHING at this point. That being said, it would line up with the Shot Heard Round the World hint...

Halloween has been rumored, that I can see happen because it could provide a good part of walking through an asylum.
Exorcist has been mentioned, but I cannot really see a house in it, except maybe in all the prequel stuff, walking through an archaeological dig would be awesome.
Funhouse also has come up in conversations, don't think I ever saw that movie (though I do think I have it laying around somewhere), but I always love dark carnival concepts, if they do this, I hope it will be "3D" and that it will have mirrors.

I have said it before and I'll say it again, I would love something set in outer space like aliens or deadspace ... nothing is scarier than something in space because there is no escape.
Something that will never happen but that I would love to see: a haunt based on Dario Argento's Suspiria!

Lots of talk about masks? the phantom was the ushers favorite movie? we could get a phantom house? I see it as the ladder or possibly Halloween or trick r treat
