Not sure if it’s to be believed or not but HHNU is reporting that there’s been one IP locked for HHN29 besides Stranger Things 2. It may or may not be surprising depending on your speculation list:

Hellraiser

My guess would be 1+2 but it could just be a Poltergeist type where it’s purely the first film.

Yup, after last year I'm skeptical of any supposedly "locked down" property (except for Stranger Things).

I would be psyched if true.

So assuming we do get 12 houses I’d wonder what the IP/Original split would be. A 6-6 ratio would be idealistic since we’re likely getting a repeat IP house and a 3D original + a requel

An even split is basically the goal every year. If it’s an odd number of houses, I think they’ll give originals the edge.

And I’m hearing one of the main house designers got a promotion of sorts and won’t be doing HHN anymore.

That means new blood.

I doubt that 12 houses is happening. I expect them to maybe do 11 with having 2 large show productions (maybe a HHN version of Bourne), add several Vamp 85/Chucky mini-shows, and have either Minions or Fallon open.

Won't happen. At least not next year.
Don't know if they'll "add." They've been staying at 2/3 shows at year for a reason. They don't actually add capacity.
Possible, but unlikely. They didn't open Simpsons this year because they need those Ops people for houses.
Won't happen. Adding a ride entrance/exit in the middle of all that house queue insanity is unnecessary.

Simpsons opened this year some nights.

And the mini-shows I know don't add capacity but at-least spread crowds and take them away from queues.

My understanding was that the Simpsons was closed because there was not enough traffic to justify it during last year's HHN.

Is there any type of realistic re-routing that can be done for the Parade / New Parade? houses (Seeds & TRT this year)? While we didn't hit the logjam of people queueing to exit that was prevalent early in the event, the walk back to the entrances was a bit of a nuisance, and ultimately led to us not doing those houses as often as the others (a night where we did Sinema 5x we did Seeds and TRT once).

I'm not as familiar with back-of-house areas, but could the Parade house not exit to the tent houses as in prior years?

That's definitely part of it. They needed Ops too, though.

Besides, the Simpsons closure decision was made in the last 3-4 weeks before the final reveal of the park map. I saw an official park map with two weeks before the reveal with Simpsons included.

The thought process probably was:

"We need more Ops. Where can we pull from?"
"Simpsons barely pulls anybody during HHN."
"Great. Close it and pull them."

First post in years so I hope everyone is well!

I am really following the HHN news this year as we are finally returning for 2019 after 10 years and this will be our first HHN!

I may well be looking way too much into this but did anyone notice this reply on the Hollywood twitter page? Does #carny relate to anything already or are we hinting at carnival?

It's a thing Murdy (the Hollywood creative lead) does. He tends to answer questions in a round-about, indecipherable way. It causes fans to "think" he's saying one thing when he's actually saying another.

EDIT - For example, what he is REALLY saying is that whatever the IP is, it's never been a maze they've done at Hollywood. That means it could be something that has never been at HHN, sure, but it also means any IPs that have been a zone, Terror Tram, or have appeared in Orlando and NOT Hollywood before.

Carny would point to Killer Klowns, but I don't think he'd make it that obvious. Aiello's tweet showing all the movies does suggest Hellraiser.

Aiello also had Child's Play in that picture, right? It was the largest thing in the picture, IIRC.
