Well that's a dark/bleak sounding ending, I like it! Fear has always felt like a missed opportunity/last-minute kind of Icon, which he technically was due to the original idea being Cindy, so a house making him more of a threat is honestly welcome for the big guy.

If the icons have been inside of Fear's lantern since HHN 20, how is the theme of HHN 25 explained (or HHN 26 for that matter)?

And Lady Luck came a year after Fear's lantern was introduce. Is she also stuck in the lantern now? If so, how?

The issue has always been that the fans care more about the lore and continuity than Universal has.

They’re still Fear’s servants. The house ends in Fear’s throne room with (the most commonly rumored story being) the icons being burned for eternity. They’re all still trapped in the lantern. They don’t escape. The story feels like a conclusion.

When I heard about this I also felt it seemed like a conclusion. Made me wonder if they are done with anniversary years and the icons as a whole so this is the conclusion of 30 years.

They never said 20 was a conclusion of anything. Fear (and Luck) were evolutions of the icon concept, presented in a less narrative fashion. A “new era” doesn’t have to mean a story ends.

I also think it would be stupid to end a money maker like that. The amount of Merch they can sell with Icons on it is reason enough to keep them around

Looked like a lot of deliveries/work going on in the sound stages behind rip ride today. They had the cut thru between parks today, and sound stage doors were wide open and lots of people milling around. Saw a bunch of walls up in one, but they probably had 15-20 employees ushering people along and not letting them stop and look.

Which soundstage, though? The two soundstages closest to load are Sharp Aquos (so it would have been BMG removal) and SS21 and SS22, which didn’t have a house in them last year.

Yeah - we're still early in the game. Let's see how the vaccine rolls out over the coming months before we start guessing what kind of adjustments are made. Let's just celebrate the event is finally coming back.

Agreed, chances are any decisions on procedures will be made in the Summer, got a lil ways to go for that.

As for celebration, I've noticed I'm still in a overall happy mood since this was officially confirmed. The same can be said for my parents when they got the news, too. This is gonna' be their 1st HHN, and I think this year is gonna' be a great first impression for them. They really enjoyed the lil taste they got from BoF and TF last year, so I can't wait to see their reactions to a full event.
