I wouldn't sleep on Lost Boys. Besides Gremlins (which has its own issues), the best known 80s horror property left to do. Lends itself to a house rather easily, except maybe the boardwalk, but Us made that work. Done right could attract the thirsty Eddie fans -- vampire sax player would have multiple Twitter tribute accounts. And owned by WB, who are probably open to playing ball again after their own haunt failed.

I think because of Beetlejuice, WB is open to working with Universal Orlando.

The bigger question I have is if WB is open to working with Universal Studios Hollywood after the Beetlejuice situation. If they are not open to working with Hollywood, maybe we could start seeing more exclusive IPs to Orlando only.

One of my all time favorite movies and honestly my most wanted IP *ever*…which most likely means it will never happen, but, while I understand it being a WB property, I feel it still gets slept on way too much in regards to it translating well for HHN. Even a zone could* work and fit comfortably in the 80’s nostalgia feels~ category that seems to be something HHN is interested in (Stranger Things, Killer Klowns, Ghostbusters, Beetlejuice).

I’m gonna stop myself from veering too far into Wishlist territory here, but, I can see how The Lost Boys fits at HHN.

I like The Lost Boys too, it's interesting it was directed by Joel 'Bat nipples' Shumacher, and yet, so much fun to watch

80's vampires are always a vibe I want to see more of

Looking into it, it looks like Beetlejuice was produced by the company that became a predecessor to Dreamworks. I think that explains the Beetlejuice presence better than a potential new partnership with WB.
Or, WB doesn’t view BJ as a viable horror property and didn’t care to let it go. I just don’t see them giving up on their own event that quickly…surely they can find a way to successfully leverage their horror IPs beyond just licensing to a competitor.

if they did a zone they could recreate the saxophone concert for the zone and hire a strong actor to play it. I'm not even joking, imagine the hype, sexy saxophone singer at hhn, make him a vampire.

I see Bourne's venue being a highly unlikely location for a show. The giant props are not easily relocated, there's not enough backstage room, nor greenroom space and the venue is fairly popular and also very new. They're not going to lose a popular daytime, air conditioned show for 3-4 months(prep, show run, breakdown) just for an HHN show. BMG sounds more likely, although the turnaround for Grinch would be hell.

Yup. All signs from trusted sources with good track records point to the amphitheater getting torn down for the new HP VR Broomstick attraction, there was never any discussion of just FFL closing and the amphitheater staying. Halloween Nightmare Fuel really was the last show in that venue.

You could convince me that something could happen with Candyman - though I don’t see how you adapt that - but it’d only be the new movie.

It's true, they did - but Us has significantly more characters that translate to a haunt environment. While its themes are political, they also aren't nearly as brazen and openly provocative as what's in the new Candyman.

I'm not saying it can't be done, but I'm not peronally sure how they would execute it. I don't even know which "Candyman" they'd use. With that said... I'm sure if the producers are willing to go for it, Universal would love to use it. Marketing-wise, the hook is as popular as the "Us" scissors.

I might be bias but the world needs a Carpenter Thing house next year. I know there was a house for the prequel but has hhn ever gotten close to a Thing house? i.e. is it s studio issue or do the higher ups think its not popular enough to make into a maze?

I think I recall reading there was a Thing house planned for the original Islands of Fear (when Cindy was the Icon), though there was also 2007's The Thing: Assimilation which was pretty much an original sequel house.

They had Assimilation in 2007, The Thing as a scene in Silver Screams, then the remake had a house in 2011.

Frankly, I just don’t think it’s a priority for the designers (for whatever reason).

I know anniversaries are an easy assumption, but that’s not always a safe bet. 2020 would’ve been the 60th Anniversary of Psycho, a property that has some strong roots in HHN’s early history, and it wasn’t featured for the “Anniversary Celebration”.

I agree, anniversaries are not also a safe beat.

One a side note, other than the press release saying that Trick ‘r Treat released 10 years ago, I don’t really recall any other recent moments in HHN’s history that really said anything about a anniversary.

Disregard films that are having an anniversary, there is not enough evidence that supports the motive of the design leads taking this into consideration.

It also comes off as wishlist talk most of the time.
