I would love to see a Chucky house that utilizes puppets rather than human-sized Chuckies popping out of boo-holes.

The Weeknd literally proves this wrong.

Not to give credence to the argument, but Weeknd is UMG. Same as Billie. That's still fairly close to being a Universal property. Again, I don't think there's anything to worry about here, but XO isn't our best example of an outside IP holder.

UMG is not part of Comcast/NBCUniversal.

I wonder if it's an IT situation where Netflix wants to create some experiences of their own

I wouldn't be surprised to see some ST4 pop-ups around the country (like the one listed already)

When your IP is a part of HHN you tend to get lumped in to the overall borg that is HHN

Perhaps they didn't want that

I also had a crazy fan theory that Comcast cracked a proverbial whip and doesn't want any non-Universal/NBC/Peacock IPs at the event anymore

The Weeknd? UMG isn’t owned by Comcast.

It's not, I was just wildly speculating as far as the Netflixgate goes

If I were Comcast I would continue utilizing the parks to push my own Movie and TV properties as much as I could and they would get precedence over outside IP

Music artists, meh, whatever

Again it was just a highly speculative statement

Sorry for double post I’m still figuring out this site.

I’d be perfectly fine with them just using a bunch of short scare actors to play the Chuckys just like they did with all the fairies in revenge of the tooth fairy or the kids in the stranger things house

If anyone remembers Sir Henry’s Haunted Trail last year, you might remember Captain’s Fury. Setting wise, it reminds of the rumored house labeled as Dead Man’s Wharf. There was one room that was very impressive in particular in Captain’s Fury where they used fog, seaside facades, and a fake bridge to simulate a vast harbor. I hope something that impressive with a HHN budget can be adapted in the rumored seaside house. Conceptually and just by the name alone, this rumored house has a lot of potential.

Here’s a photo from that scene at Sir Henry’s I am referring to:

Not strictly speculation, but booked my hotel for week 2, so I'm now much more invested in what Orlando gets.

Good choice for the week, that's what I'm doing this year as well. The second and third weekend is a sweet spot for the event. Everything is still fresh and the scareactors can really start finding their grooves at this time.

While true, there's just always something magical about going on opening night. Seeing all the fans and locals excited to see their favorite Halloween event back, all the scareactors excited to start doing what they do best again... Sure, there are always still quite a few hiccups opening weekend, but it's still fun nonetheless.

That's great to know because I usually book late in October.

This year I happen to be booking the same weekends too though so it will be interesting to see how the event is when it is so early.

Last year I made the mistake of going week 4 - still pretty manageable, crowd-wise, but it made ticket media a chore since it was outside of the Rush of Fear window. (We would've gone earlier, but we had a wedding in Nashville the next week and had to combine the trips.) This year, Rush of Fear + Express or bust.

Also thrilled I'll get to see both "parts" to Legends Collide.

Oh yeah, RoF+Express is the way to go for me. And while I'd lean towards the 3rd weekend, I've got a limited timeframe to hit up haunts due to working one myself, and the 3rd weekend of Sept is Scary Farms opening weekend, so I'm hitting that up.

I won't lie I'm tempted to do HW for one night when I'm down there, thing is DL for a day is tempting as well and that's much closer.

I just want to mention, we don’t know the actual names of any houses this year. Insiders often use the names of old houses/zones, or come up with their own names, as a shorthand for what they know about the house.

What we’re calling “Dead Man’s Wharf” could just as easily be called, “Depths of Fear (on Land).”

Yep, that’s why I jumped around calling it seaside or Dead Man’s Wharf.
