Would there be a reason to expect Gremlins next year? The IP isn’t doing much to justify its existence at the event. WB owns the IP and I don’t know why Universal would choose to do that over any other WB IP.

I mean, an IP being currently “in use” is hardly a prerequisite to getting a house at the event. Otherwise we would’ve never gotten houses like Killer Klowns, The Shining, Trick r Treat, House of 1000 Corpses, etc.

In the last 3 years, pretty much all the licensed IP at the event has lined up with a recently released project, with the only notable exception being Universal Monsters. There's definitely been a greater emphasis on contemporary properties when compared to the 2010s.

HHN has done The Exorcist and A Quiet Place... don't doubt them. If they feel they can make it work they'll do it. Personally, I think it could work as a house. Smile 2 has a lot to pull from.
