With there seemingly being 11/12 houses on the docket now, and with Epic opening in late May which has been around the time announcement season has started the past few years. Does announcement season start a bit earlier this year? Like March or April?

The announcement season has been different for each go, so who knows… But yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if they did a couple big ones early since May/June will be all about Epic hype.

Poinsettia is a plant that is also called Streptocarpus "Lucille" Cape Primrose - "lucille" is the name of the baseball bat Negan uses in The Walking Dead, maybe we are getting a Dead City house? I'm sure there was also a barbed wire bat in the tribute store too. I wouldn't mind a Dead City house especially in a sound stage that would be pretty cool.

It was a change in recent years. They used to mean a bit more.

No. Typically insiders say that any connections can only be figured out after the house is known. For example, there was no way fans could discern that “baclava” related to a folk museum or that “sundae” related to goblins. So all the guessing is just wish-list noise which clutters actual speculation. It’s a big reason I absolutely HATE codename spec. It actually causes more confusion than anything else.

This year, it’s different. Insiders are being explicitly told “there is no connection.”

Now, I’m firmly of the mindset that - because the rumor is that Universal is looking at 12 houses, they went with flowers because bouquets typically come in a dozen. If there is any connection this year, I think it’s that.
