Really funny detail in the Hollywood Reporter article is that they seem to have straight up forgotten that they announced a Stranger Things house

Evil Dead Burn is the third major IP house announced this year, with the film releasing in theaters earlier this month. It will appear at the 2026 event alongside a series of original concept houses, scare zones and the Hollywood park’s annual tram experience, as well as the highly anticipated Sinners and Hellraiser mazes.

Coming to both Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort, the newest installment in New Line Cinema’s ongoing franchise hit theaters this month.

Yeah, the net result will be Express pass holders clearing the system a little sooner (since there are presumably fewer of them) causing standby times to drop a little bit earlier at the end of the night. But standby times for most of the night will be just as bad, potentially worse if there is actually a large group of FFP+Express who buy down to basic FFP.

Well if the FFP w Express crowd goes into standby that means the queue wait will be the same, right? We're assuming the same amount of guests entering with single day express, it'd make the regular line be longer (aka more people) but move quicker. Also how many of those FFP folks are now balking? I don't think we'll get back HHN20s crowd levels again but I can see the math/crowd control where the Express line is more Express.

I assume they want to still offer opening weekend to all the passes BUT want to spread out the crowds some.

It’s hard to see how a several hundred or even thousand express passes spread across 10 houses, for 8 hours / night, across the entire event would have any significant impact.

Probably beyond the scope of these boards, but I don't see how it couldn't. That said, an event that still primarily caters to locals and offers them a ticket option less than $10 a visit is probably in better shape than, say, Hollywood Studios or Epic Universe. However, I wouldn't be surprised to see sales of $20 beers and the like nosedive.

THR obviously turns its nose up at "streaming entertainment" and prefers quality cinema such as Hellraiser.

Yeah, I'm able to fly to Iceland for cheaper than flying to Orlando. With the park deals we're seeing, I'm sure they're seeing softening attendance and since they can't influence flight prices, they're trying to manage it with hotel/park ticket deals.

WOW, I got sub $100 and mid $100 one way tickets from NY to Orlando on SW.
Without those deals I wouldn't have done a couple Express Singles.

Simple, a LOT of multinight ticketholders come from out of state. Lets say I'm going the last week in October, buying the FFP+ is cheaper than me buying 5 individual nights. Now, I'm not going to use the ticket for 85% of the event, but they have to include me in their equation of how many single night tickets they can sell for those nights. So saying I'm not going until Sept 20th (just making up a date) means that from Aug 28th until Oct 19th, some fraction of a person who wants to walk up and buy a ticket might not be able to if the night is sold out. I think they should even ask for an end date. I don't know what their formula is, but they probably do something where they assume 65% of people holding valid multinight tickets are going to show up so whatever that figure is, is the number of single night / walk up tickets that aren't allowed to be sold.

Saying you're going opening night when you know there's no way you're going to go, in a very small way, contributes to someone not being able to go opening night since it always sells out.

Well I spent $550 more for my 5 nights this year than last year. I won’t be going to Epic in October now (+$120) and won’t get a bonus night but as expected it wasn’t that much more for me when you factor in the inevitable price increase it’s not that much more. Probably $200 more but that’s thanks to my premier free night (which can be a Saturday now) and the discount the other nights.

I called and got a guaranteed answer that premier passholders can utilize Scream Early and the houses early the day of their ticket reservation. The gentleman I talked to said he saw it on an official channel.

Gotta be Terrifier in the last zone, which is probably why it hasn’t been announced yet. It’s definitely not for a house.

Also interesting that KKFOS isn't listed there yet! Guess they're waiting until the clown zone is fully announced?

Love it! I remember we had aliens on the first floor at Dead Coconut in 2023. It'll be nice to have them back.

THIS is the announcement I've been waiting forrrrr
I absolutely ADORED last year's theme and decor. It felt so immersive and well thought out. Bonus that last year continued the theme upstairs vs the years with just random Blumhouse stuff and the like. And even the music fit the theme last year (I love that they started doing that in 2024 with the 80s music). Plus the actors wandering around and doing their thing was a lot of fun too.

I didn't like how they did the theme the first time they had the aliens out, but that was before they really really went hard on decor at DCC, so there's a good chance this will be loads better. It'll be hard to top last year, but I'm excited to see what they do with this one!
Man, this has me reminiscing about how good last year was though and how I wish I knew how they did some of the decor lol

Interesting - so we'll be able to get wristbands immediately upon entry near Guest Services. Wonder if this means the in-park Guest Services or just outside the gates.

Just noticed the DCC description mentions light bites. We've never had food at DCC before, have we?
