The report is intentionally vague, if it wasn't vague the other half would be complaining about how I ruined the event.

Far from the longest house of all time, and no it was not 2 stories.

I think a few people were wondering. I've been every year since 2006, and I've worked since 2009. The only year I haven't gone twice was 2009. Instead of going a 2nd time I went to Howl-O-Scream. I'm fairly well rounded and I plan on writing a far more detailed review at the end of the event but I obviously don't want to ruin the event for the throngs of people who aren't going to be able to make it until mid or end of the event.

Ok you had me confused Jake :P When you said the report was very long, I automatically thought spoiler-filled  Now knowing that it's vague, I went ahead and read it and I liked it  That was great to read before heading out to the event, especially the couple of tips you gave for some of the houses, like look up on Catacombs and press that red button on PS. Thanks Jake! :rep:

I think everyone has to understand that this is an opinion piece, where Jake stated several times that he may change his mind on things once he visits the houses more times, and knowing that this was only an employee preview, things are bound to change. Also Jake did this for fun and not professionally or academically, so lets not be harsh if he's not providing specific examples of everything... plus he says it was intentionally vague so as to not spoil us before we get to see it for ourselves.

Q&A with TJ Mannarino on Facebook has been cancelled.
Hi all - Unfortunately due to some issues with Facebook this afternoon we'll have to reschedule the Q&A with T.J. Mannarino, Director of Art and Design for Universal Orlando Resort. We'll let you know when the next live Q&A is scheduled!

 Awesome! Are you driving all the way to Orlando or how are you coming? Don't forget your phone charger, haha! Using the internet on the phone kills the battery quick!

Bummer!

Is there a media preview for HHN this year? has anyone heard of house walk-throughs or anything? Weird how they're handling media and promotion this year... The best "media" inteview I saw was that last video on Attractions Magazine's youtube (the 8 or 9 minute one with Aiello) :look:

Just read out the new posts and wanted to comment on some. Note: They are all Briman's posts.

Keep in mind, the Preview Night doesn't show all the cards. It just gives a general idae about eveything. A lot of the big effects are held off until Friday.

I would kind suspect that since it was a pre-view (or a dressed / dry rehersal for the scareactors). We have yet to see the best out of HHN 20.

FREQUENT FEAR PASS QUESTION

I bought a friend of mine (John) a Frequent Fear Pass Express since he was going to be attending the event with me two nights this weekend. Unfortunately, a member of his family has been hospitalized and is expected to pass away in the next few days, so he is unable to attend. That said, I have his Frequent Fear Pass with his name on it. Naturally it has not been used. Am I able to give it to someone else, even though their name is not on the pass?

Thanks for any assistance...

Just saw a picture of the facade for Zombiegeddon, and I now think it will be one of my favorite houses this year!

From my experience, they don't check ID as you are entering the park. As long as you have the ticket in hand and there has been no finger scan yet, I would assume it should be okay. I'm not absolutely positive, but I think you can get away with it.

I would call and see if it can be changed, you can show them a receipt, CC, and ID.
Someone else could use the ticket first and establish the finger print.
I think it should work like that (with the finger print) but if you have a problem and have to show ID, it might be a problem.

There is absolutely no use or finger scan of any kind, just the name - the name is a guy's name and we're giving it to a girl. Surely worst thing's worst we go to Guest Relations and explain the problem?

I'd call guest services and explain it to them. They do say it's non-transferrable, but the rep who takes your call might have a heart and let you change the name on the ticket. The other option is having your other friend risk it and go with that ticket and hope they dont ask for ID... but that's really not the best thing to do

As it has not been used it really should not be considered a transfer...I believe a name pops up on the screen when the ticket is scanned.

So is that a yay or nay? I'd hate to get up there and find out it won't work. I'll call Universal now.

Just called Universal - said they could 100% do the transfer as long as the purchaser (in this case my father) is there to confirm with the original credit card. Just hoping the Guest Services line isn't super long...
