So do we have any idea when this will premier?
Well, for this show to happen is to have a show at all. Right now Disney is not doing any nighttime shows. I think we need to get to the point where Disney brings back nighttime fireworks and stuff first before we even consider when this will debut.

But yeah, i'd bet Late Summer/Early Fall for this if I had to.

This is probably the first night time "spectacular" that will return to WDW. The fact viewing is all around the lagoon mean physical distancing is possible with the reduced park capacity. This is just like SeaWorld doing their fireworks on the lake-- guests can easily spread out. The biggest challenge will be the guests exiting at the same time to return to their hotels and the crush on the transportation system. That seems to be the biggest issue with the parks (especially MK) right now with the crush of people all leaving at the end of the day. Maybe there's a way to institute some kind of virtual queue/reservation system for the transportation network to alleviate that and spread out guest departures from the parks...

Good thinking

Fantasmic and HEE would be problematic

Looks like this might be true since work has seemingly ramped up on barges And fireworks testing was going on last night.

Can't say I'm a huge fan of that idea.

Either they're going to be running the fountains continuously (in which case they'll be blocking the views of pavilions from across the lagoon, as that concept art shows), or for large periods of time there are just going to be these ugly industrial structures sitting out in the water.

Driving the barges out every night is so much werkkkkkk

Yep. Gonna be hard for people to take pictures of themselves in front of Spaceship Earth from across the water. Or to get great nighttime shots of the pavilions along the water.

Having to close the walkway to pull the barges through each day was always a pain in the butt. It just makes sense to leave them out there as a new element during the day.
