Looking at this gave me an idea: is it likely the hotel will play a part in the fountain show or something else? Projection mapping might be a pain with shining lights directly into guest windows so they may not do that but I was wondering if we'll see more elements like that over other parts of the building?

Even something simple like a light beam shooting from the Chronos at the park entrance to the hotel focus at that point would be neat to see, especially if it has anything to do with that night ceremony rumor. Anyone know if the hotel and the Chronos are around the same height?

I'm spitballing a little here but so far it's like they're taking things a step further than you think they would with this park so it's hard to say exactly what might be over the top at the moment.

Absolutely won’t even step foot in to epic universe until I can secure a room at this hotel. Seems tailored made to the park experience and theme. I like that the pool is more elegant / adult , vs water slides and lazy river.

With the current layout , it seems safe to say that the “portals” may close early, and the hub stays open later with all of its restaurants servicing park and hotel guests. The coaster and Carasoul could end up closing later as well.

I’m not going to want to leave epic to go to city walk for dinner.

I like how Epcot does it and the restaurants seat all the way up until park closing. Sometimes I'll snag a 9pm reservation and walking out of an empty park is one of my favorite things to do. Great nighttime pics obviously and zero fuss. Security or employees never even look your way.

I wonder if a park ticket is automatically included with your stay. This would eliminate the need to show a ticket and make it possible to enter the hub at any time. It would also prevent non hotel guests from entering the park from the hotel entrance. Finally it could raise the cost of the rooms significantly

I'd be surprised. At least the not need to show a ticket deal. It'll be too easy to uber to the front entrance under the guise of checking in, and work your way to the park entrance. If you have to show your hotel key, that's about the same as showing your ticket.

But in reality, they are going to want to sell rooms to convention goers. They aren't going to force those to buy a ticket. And if it's just included in the price, this thing is going to be $500 a night, which I just don't see.

You don’t ? I was thinking it as going to be $500 a night even without a ticket.
Having the park ticket included in your hotel key would stop people from being able to access the park without a reservation.

I would not be surprised if park view rooms hit $750/night during peak season.

I'm thinking this sounds about right. Anything higher I would start to expect Four Seasons level amenities from Helios, which is very unlikely.

I hadn't looked at prices in a while at the resort hotels. I was just assuming similar to portofino, maybe a little higher. So I just looked and holy Jesus. Prices are insane. Like they've doubled in the last couple years. So yeah, I guess $500 is going to be minimum.

Which sucks, because I had been planning a park view room for our first EU trip.

Deluxe Universal hotel prices went crazy after covid. Close to Disney level now.

We did hard rock in December 21. I want to say we paid $230ish. So $500+ is just jarring.
