I'm very glad to see that after last nights realm of disappointment on here because of the Exorcist, we seem to start to have anticipation again after hearing everything else is great. Friday can't get here any slower

I want to let everyone know that Exorcist isn't a terrible maze. It's just my least favorite of the bunch. Big difference there. I'm sure plenty of people will love it, just too repetitive for me.

Zero's review has me hyped again... Agh... so many mixed emotions for the event, especially with FvJ being my most anticipated, can't wait!

Couldn't get it to post but earlier today, Murdy tweeted:  "This is such an FX heavy year. The Exorcist alone damn near killed me but now I can see the light at the end of a very long tunnel!"

To me, this slightly implies that perhaps Exorcist may not have been fully working all night... after all, it is still a rehearsal.  Makes me curious to hear if it'll be any different reviews in a few days.

John did say that there were a lot of technical difficulties with The Exorcist last night so once they did those it might improve the maze

disappears back into the shadows to avoid spoilers

The whole "FX Heavy" terminology worried me from the start. I look back to Crimson peak which, while beautiful, really didn't provide any real scary substance that I had hoped for. John also refers to that maze as being "FX heavy". Which is my main concern for Exorcist.. More theater based versus focusing on the scares themselves.

Exorcist does not play out like a traditional HHN maze. It's a breath of fresh air but I feel this will be the aspect that divides most HHN fans. As I mentioned in my review, many things in the Exorcist were not working at all. This maze is way more FX heavy than Crimson Peak and depends heavily on them. It's really awesome when it works but the entire experience takes a huge hit when they don't. Here's hoping they can work out all the kinks by opening night. Also I'd recommend looking at the smaller details in there. Lots of little effects that can go unnoticed if you're not paying attention. Like a certain Ouija board...

I think having a theatrical maze is okay.  The event has grown enough to be able to try some new ways of doing things towards the goal of more overall variety in maze presentation.  Attempting a maze based on a movie that is more psychologically scary than jump-out-at-you scary was bound to make for an interesting difference than what we were used to at HHN.

Exorcist was too repetitive, it was basically bedroom scene - black hallways with scare actors - bedroom scene, until the end where they had the demon/devil. Special FX were not too impressive either, the scene with the staircase at the entrance was not impressive and the levitating scene left more to be desired. This was only the first night running guests through the maze so improvements may/probably will be made. I mentioned it to someone that this might be one of the instances where 'just because you can, doesn't mean you should'.

Jabbawockeez show is brilliant this year, much better pacing overall. Definitely a vast improvement over last years show.

I've always been a big fan of the Terror Tram, this version is definitely one of the better ones. I love Hollywood Harry and the story they made for him.

Going off the EP, looks like American Horror Story will be the maze with the longest line so this will be the one to hit first if you don't want to wait more than an hour.

Is Jabbawockeez show more Halloween-themed? Or is it the exact same show as last year?

New show. I wouldn't say more Halloween-themed, just higher energy and better pacing than last year. Soundtrack is better too, but that is subjective.

Not sure if any of you watched the season premiere of AHS last night, but I think this new season is a perfect setting for a great maze for next year (or at least 1/3 of a maze haha). I won't spoil what the new theme is since that's part of the mystery of this season, but definitely check it out if you have time. It's VERY different from what they've done in the past. But in a good way, I think.

Can anyone confirm that this link is the official live wait times website for HHN? I'm 99% sure it is but since I don't see any of the mazes on their I wanted to confirm.        http://m.halloweenhorrornights.com/hollywood/event/waittimes

Sorry for double posting but if anyone is going tonight, I'm wearing the 2015 shirt with light camo pants with black socks with pink on top with white letters that spell golf on the side, and I wear glasses, also might be wearing a spooderman hat, look for the other things first. If anyone wants to know my thoughts on the houses as I leave them, check my Twitter out @locustgear3. If anyone sees me, say hi

So I'm being told on Inside Universal to do early entry and do the lower lot first than the backlot. But, over at Horror Night Nightmares they're saying backlot then lower lot. Any idea on which is the preferable option?

According to Murdy's twitter, Exorcist opens at 6:15, AHS and FvJ at 6:30.  For me the big question is, will they let guests walk to the backlot upon entry to the park to get in que for the 6:30 mazes, or will they just have a holding area ready and waiting that opens at a certain time to start walking towards the backlot.  It seems like AHS is going to be the big popular maze this year, so I would want to be in line for that first.  But if it's possible to get through Exorcist quickly, then head to the backlot, that would be a good option too.  My opinion, based on potential maze popularity and flow of where the mazes (and their exits) are, go in order of AHS, FvJ, Krampus, Exorcist, Halloween, then upper lot based on preference and/or wait time.  Optionally, one could hit Exorcist first, then the other in the same order.  I'm not going for a couple weeks, so I will certainly be watching the wait times over the next two weekends as to how the crowd flow is during Early Entry  I'm guessing that more people will line up for AHS first though.

I presume the reason AHS and FvJ open later is because it takes longer to get to them. Though it shouldn't take 15 minutes longer.

So they're only opening two of the three backlot mazes for early entry? That's weird.
