Yo, coaster's on fire.

Seems like nothing to be too freaked out about and it's pretty contained, but I'm wondering what caused it. I'm assuming just something catching while they were cutting stuff off?

The lift hill chain probably had residual grease, and since they're currently torch cutting the track - a spark may have lit it up.

I’m getting flashback to when the structure Colossus caught on fire at Magic Mountain way back to when they were converting that to Twisted Colossus.

Of course the media is having a field day with the Stardust Racers accident and this.

Yes, that's what it looks like in the WESH video. ....Minor problem.

Hasn’t this ride suffered enough?! First it’s demolishment, and now the gods defile it’s steel corpse with flames?!

Oh, have mercy, I beg thee!

I think you nailed it. I cut coaster lift chain somewhat frequently and it’ll light up some neighboring linkage. It’ll usually just burn itself out because it can’t burn the metal.

However, since the HRRR lift hill is so vertical, the flames are going straight up in line with the chain trough. That’s a unique problem for HRRR to have. Oh well. It’s almost gone lol.
