I rode today. I hadn't been on it since like July, so it was a little hard for me to remember. It felt just about the same. I luckily did not get a rough car, so it was actually enjoyable.

My roommate tried a hidden track during his vist yesterday and said it worked, so I guess you just had a bad seat.

It's great to see this ride open again. Good to see that many say its not as rough too. Leaving the Rockit closed for the rumoured 4 months would've made first time guests miss one of UO's best rides, so well done UNI!

One thing that I noticed changed is the restraints do not get tighter before they release like they used to in the station.

Rode it today and wanted to report that the ride is no better than before. I had by far the roughest ride I have ever had in 10+ rides.

something shaddy is going on about this coster. A guy that works for universal ( he was a tech guy because he had tools ) was with 1 other employee, who wasn't a tech guy at all, but had happened to be from ny, and we had talked for a few minutes about the parks, ny, etc. During the convo he said out of his mouth ( CERTAIN PARTS OF THE RIDE WERE RECALLED ) Six flags great adventure has kingda ka which is one of the craziest rides you will ever subject your body to do. That ride always breaks down and has some has some wierdness to it also like the rip ride. But the rip ride has a dark story to it that universal hasn't told us about

We have already known for quite some time that parts have been indeed recalled by Maurer Sohne for all of their X-Car attractions, not just Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit.

The Rockit' was closed most of yesterday because it was windy. While Hulk and DC could run this coaster could not stand against the wind that was really not that bad.

Wind what wind no no no... It was closed due to annual maintenance.:look:

Seriously though can anyone think of any coaster than cannot operate with winds of 20 MPH?

For Kingda Ka and Top Thrill Dragster, 20 mph on the ground is way higher 400+ feet above. So because of Rockit's position between buildings, the wind around the ride is much higher than what you feel on the ground in the park.

Cedar Point has it set to shut down at 45 MPH at 420 ft. So while I agree thats a whole different scenario at 400+ feet. My remark was aimed at the engineers flubbing this up on multiple levels. I guess the only reason they do this is due to the second hill being to tall:shrug:

Yes the first brake run is to tall as you can tell the train barily makes it when it goes up into it after the non inverting loop.

It would be possible to rebuild the hill and make it shorter.

Anyone else notice a pattern here with cold weather going below 50 and this coaster? This happened when it first 'opened' as well. Cold fronts hurt this thing's operation status, storms are going to of course hurt this thing's operation status, and its own design hurts its operation status. A waste.

Cold weather affects every coaster as you get a "wind chill" while you ride.

I have never heard of upper 50s and 60 degree weather shutting down a ride. This has happened twice with cold fronts and rockit now. At least twice.

go to six flags great adventure in october when its ice cold out and all the coasters are running. esp kingda ka which always randomly gets shut down ever 2 hours for a random maintanence for about 15-30 minutes. Kingda ka will make you look at life differently after going on that coaster.

what i don't get about the rip rock....why didn't they figure all these problems out before they built and designed the coaster???

It's not the cold weather bringing the ride down, they have fixed that problem. It's the high wind speeds in the area that are closing the ride.
