While not baby bottom smooth, this ride is no where near the roughness of other rides within a few hours drive of USF. Rides like Gwazi, Dania Beach Hurricane, Hangman, GASM, Ninja, Georgia Cyclone etc are far worse and are open season after season, bloody noses or no bloody noses, dead people or no dead people... The main problem with people getting hurt are people not listening to the warning signs posted every ten feet.

Yeah it's definitely better than Ninja on the roughness scale! Ugh.. Like I said earlier I don't really think it's rough in the way coasters usually are.. Rockit is a different kind of beast. It was not what i was expecting at all and even though I worked there and know a decent amount about coasters and what to expect, i wasn't expecting this thing to nearly knock me out! I hope they can fix everything and get the new wheel assemblies on so i can change my mind! Maybe i'm getting wimpy.

My friend and I both vividly remember having our sight go dark around the edges during the "Treble Clef" section. We weren't worried though, it just sort of added to the intensity.

^ I don't ride Hulk as much anymore because that would happen to much.
But look at the good sides of this ride, it didn't replace anything and its a fun ride when you get a good cart.

I've never come close to blacking out on Hulk. I think I may have on Rockit, but blacking out isn't too big of a deal in moderation. It just means that the rider's brain is undergoing foreign forces. Blood temporarily doesn't get to the brain. But it is quickly restored. What comes directly after the treble clef? A brake run.

According to many websites, it takes about 6 g's for most to black out. I know there are several parts of Rockit where I can't lift my arms. I wouldn't be surprised if several parts of Rockit pull 4-6 g's.

People pass out on rides all the time. Whether this one was a pre-existing cause or the rockit' itself is a mystery. How long ago was that?

About a month or two before it closed. I figured it couldn't be too serious since it reopened immediately after they were removed.

Wow, I feel like such a wimp now. It only takes about 4 Gs for me to black out. And, for what reasons I don't know, but the main drop -- and arguably the only good drop (but ohhhhhh is it gooood) -- of Millennium Force always makes me black out... which wouldn't be from positive Gs at all... anyone have any theories behind that? Do 0/negative/extremely low Gs often result in black outs, especially when they last the eternity that is Millennium's first drop?

How bad is this for your brain again...?

Negative g's can actually cause a "red-out" which is when too much blood rushes to your head. Very similar to hanging upsidedown and feeling dizzy. As with blacking out, doing it too often can lead to brain damage.

Please understand - a full black out is unconciousness. No ride recently built produces the kind of forces needed to do this to healthy people. However graying out is commonly experienced - when your vision starts to go dark but you still know what's happening. I've experienced this some on Rockit, but much more on a coaster in NJ, Nitro. High g's is not a problem unless you're a wimp or you have some disorder. For me it just makes the ride more interesting.

Yeah it happened to me twice. I think once into the climb to the first brake and then the treble clef. I love rollercoasters but I don't necessarily want to see God. I think also the fact that i didn't eat anything and it was 1000 degrees out didn't help matters much.

Ah, OK. Yeah. I meant grey out, not black out.

 I try. What I'm saying basically is Rockit is an awesome coaster that suffered from being rushed into. Both Universal and Maurer should have taken their time with designing something this radically new. Now that they know the problems they overlooked, they can work to fix them.

I assume you're talking about the preztel loop. Yeah, it's definitely the most intense element I've been on. I always gray out there in the back row but the front is just like getting a hug.
